Forward event invites through email

When you create an event in Zoho Calendar, you can send invitations to attendees through email, calendar invite, or both. If you want to allow the attendees to forward the invite to people apart from the attendees added by you, select the Allow forward check-box when you create an event.

Steps to Allow forward for an event

  1. Log in to Zoho Calendar.
  2. Create a new event or edit an event that you have already created.
  3. Provide the event details like Event title, Date, Time, Attendees, etc.,
  4. In the Create Event/ Edit Event tab, select the Allow forward check-box under the Attendees field.

  5. Click Save.
  6. Choose any of the options in the Send event invitation pop-up and click Confirm.
An event invite via email, calendar invite or both will be sent to the attendees.

Forward event invite

If event forward has been enabled, the attendees can forward the event invite either from the view event tab or forward the email invite sent to them. The recipients of the forwarded invite can RSVP to the event from the email invitation card and they'll be added as attendees to the event.

Steps to forward invite from view event tab

  1. Log in to Zoho Calendar.
  2. Click on the event in which you're a part of and event forward has been enabled.
  3. An event view pop-up will appear with the event title, time and date of the event in your time zone, and other details of the event.
  4. Click on the Forward event icon on top of the event view pop-up or the View event tab.

  5. Provide the email addresses of people to whom you want to forward the invite too.
    1. If the email address is from your organization you can choose it from the contact list as you type the email address.
    2. If it's from an external organization press 'enter'/ 'return' upon typing the complete email address.
  6. You can provide a Note to the event invite forward.
  7. Click Forward.
An email will be sent to the recipients with the event invitation. The recipients can RSVP to the event invite by choosing Yes/ No/ Maybe from the event invitation card.

Steps to forward invite from mail

  1. Log in to Zoho Mail or other email clients in which you've received an event invite (forward).
  2. Click and open the event invitation email.
  3. Click Forward and provide the email addresses of the people you want to forward the invite.

  4. Click Send.
An email will be sent to the recipients with the event invitation. The recipients can RSVP to the event invite by choosing Yes/ No/ Maybe from the event invitation card.
  1. Only after the recipients RSVP to the event, they will be added as attendees.
Allow forward option can be enabled for the events created in following calendars only:
  1. Personal Calendars
  2. Group Calendars
  3. Shared Calendars with Write/ Delegate permission.

How to accept a forwarded event invitation?

The recipients of the forwarded event invitation can RSVP to the invite by following the steps given below:

Steps to accept a forwarded invite in Zoho Mail

  1. Log in to Zoho Mail.
  2. Click and open the event invitation (forward) email.
  3. Select Yes/ No/ Maybe from the event invitation card.

Steps to accept a forwarded invite in other email services

  1. Log in to your email account and navigate to the event invitation email.
  2. Click and open the event invitation (forward) email.
  3. An invitation card would have been generated based on the calendar service provided by your email service provider.
  4. Select Yes/ No/ Maybe from the event invitation card.
Once the recipient RSVP to the event they will be added as attendees to the event.
An expired event cannot be forwarded and the recipients of expired event invitation cannot RSVP to the expired event.

Every time I check the box "Allow Forward" and save, the calendar says it saves, but I am not given an option to forward, and when I go back into edit my event the box is no longer checked.

Why is this? How can I get my calendar to allow me to forward my invites?

Also I click on the 'Send by Email' icon, next to the Cliq icon, and all I get is a server error message.

A client has asked me to forward the invite and I have no simple way of doing that from the calendar.
