Import contacts from Cloud storage services

Zoho Campaigns lets you import contacts from different cloud storage services. You can import contacts stored in Zoho WorkDrive, Google Drive, Drop Box, OneDrive, and Box as contacts in Zoho Campaigns. The file to be imported should meet the following requirements,
  1. It should be in either Excel or CSV format. Text files are not supported.
  2. It should have an email address field.

Import Contacts from Zoho WorkDrive

  1. From the Navigation toolbar, choose Audience and then Contacts.
  2. Click on Import Contacts and click the Import from Cloud button .
  3. Select Zoho WorkDrive -> click on Authenticate Zoho WorkDrive button. 
  4. Now, click on Recent Files from the menu. Select the file from which you'd like to import.
  5. Choose how you would like to handle duplicate contacts under the Duplicate Handling section:
    1. Overwrite Contacts - Replace existing contacts' data with the data from your file. Useful for overwriting particular fields' values for multiple contacts.
    2. Skip Duplicates - Existing contacts will remain untouched.
  6. Add Subscription Type - marketing, non-marketing, and unsubscribed contacts
  7. Choose a mailing list and the file from which you need to import contacts.
  8. Associate your contacts with necessary topics. This step is applicable only if you have configured other topics in addition to the default topic (Marketing).
  9. Choose the Lawful Basis for Communication as well if you've enabled GDPR Compliances under Settings -> Compliances.
  10. Fields from file are pre-mapped with Campaign fields. You can change a mapped Campaign field by clicking on the Campaign Fields drop down.
  11. Click on Import button.

Import Contacts from Google Drive

  1. From the Navigation toolbar, choose Audience and then Contacts.
  2. Click on Import Contacts and click the Import from Cloud button .
  3. Select GoogleDrive -> click on Authenticate GoogleDrive button. 
  4. Now, click on Recent Files from the menu. Select the file from which you'd like to import.
  5. Choose how you would like to handle duplicate contacts under the Duplicate Handling section:
    1. Overwrite Contacts - Replace existing contacts' data with the data from your file. Useful for overwriting particular fields' values for multiple contacts.
    2. Skip Duplicates - Existing contacts will remain untouched.
  6. Add Subscription Type - marketing, non-marketing, and unsubscribed contacts
  7. Choose a mailing list and the file from which you need to import contacts.
  8. Associate your contacts with necessary topics. This step is applicable only if you have configured other topics in addition to the default topic (Marketing).

Import Contacts from Dropbox

  1. From the Navigation toolbar, choose Audience and then Contacts.
  2. Click on Import Contacts and click the Import from Cloud button .
  3. Select DropBox -> click on Authenticate DropBox button. 
  4. Now, click on Recent Files from the menu. Select the file from which you'd like to import.
  5. Choose how you would like to handle duplicate contacts under the Duplicate Handling section:
    1. Overwrite Contacts - Replace existing contacts' data with the data from your file. Useful for overwriting particular fields' values for multiple contacts.
    2. Skip Duplicates - Existing contacts will remain untouched.
  6. Add Subscription Type - marketing, non-marketing, and unsubscribed contacts
  7. Choose a mailing list and the file from which you need to import contacts.

  5. Choose how you would like to handle duplicate contacts under the Duplicate Handling section:

Import Process

File import process takes place in five steps,

  1. File read - Selected file is scanned before commencing import.
  2. Invalid Patterns - Contact detail without an email address or with an invalid email address ( For example, "johndoe.yahoo.com", "julia@gnail.com", "darren@outlookcom") are ignored.
  3. Unsupported emails - Group email addresses(hr@zylker.com, admin@zylker.com) are ignored.
  4. File Duplicates - Already imported contacts are ignored to avoid duplication.
  5. New & Duplicates - New contacts' details are imported into the mailing list.

Import Result

Upon importing the file, Import Result is generated which displays the detailed report of the import. You can view file name, import status and, the number of newly added, re-added, duplicate and ignored contacts. You can click on the Import History link to view previous import details.
