Using AI to create and improve marketing content

AI-powered content generation helps you create and refine content across your email, SMS, and WhatsApp messages. You can generate new content from instructions or improve content you've already written. Before you begin, make sure AI features are enabled with your preferred LLM vendor and model. Learn more

Email subject and preheader

You can use AI to generate an email subject and preheader based on your campaign context.

Generate a subject or preheader

  1. In the subject or preheader field, click the AI icon.
  2. In the AI content generation window, provide the context of your campaign and describe the content you want to generate.
  3. Click Generate.
  4. Review the generated content.
  5. Use the available options to adjust the tone, length, or reading level of the content.
  6. Once you're satisfied with the result, click Insert to add it to the field.    

Improve an existing subject or preheader

If you've already entered a subject or preheader, you can use AI to improve it without starting over.
Click the AI icon in the respective field and choose one of the following options:
  1. Rephrase - Rephrases the content while preserving its original context.
  2. Change Tone - Changes the tone to Conversational, Energetic, Formal, or Empathetic.
  3. Length - Shortens or lengthens the content while keeping it within the field limits.
  4. Simplify - Simplifies the content to make it easier to read.
  5. Fix Grammar - Corrects grammatical and punctuation errors.
  6. Translate to - Translates the existing content into the selected language.
  7. Rewrite - Rewrites the entire content using AI.   

Email body block

AI can help you create or improve content within your email body blocks.

Generate content for an email block

  1. In the email editor, click the AI icon next to the three-dot menu on the block.
  2. Enter your instructions and campaign context.
  3. If you've already provided campaign context, you don't need to enter it again.
  4. Click Generate.
  5. AI uses the available subject and preheader along with your instructions to generate the content.
  6. You can then adjust the generated content by changing its tone, length, or reading level.
  7. Click Insert when you're satisfied with the result.   

Improve existing block content

If the block already contains content, click the AI icon to access the available rework options:
  1. Rephrase - Rephrases the content while preserving its original context.
  2. Change Tone - Changes the tone to Conversational, Energetic, Formal, or Empathetic.
  3. Length - Shortens or lengthens the content within the block's limits.
  4. Simplify - Makes the content easier to read.
  5. Fix Grammar - Corrects grammatical and punctuation errors.
  6. Translate to - Translates the content into the selected language.
  7. Rewrite - Rewrites the entire content using AI.   

Improve a specific section

You don't have to rework the entire block. Select the part of the content you want to improve and use AI to rework that section. You can then replace the selected content with the generated result.

Plain-text email body

You can also use AI to create and improve content in a plain-text email.

Generate plain-text content

  1. Click the AI icon at the top-right of the text area.
  2. Enter your instructions and campaign context.
  3. Click Generate.
  4. AI uses the available subject and preheader to help generate the email body.
  5. After the content is generated, you can change its tone, length, or reading level.
  6. Click Insert to add the generated content to the email.   

Improve existing content

If you've already written the email body, click the AI icon to access these options:
  1. Rephrase - Rephrases the content while preserving its original context.
  2. Change Tone - Changes the tone to Conversational, Energetic, Formal, or Empathetic.
  3. Length - Shortens or lengthens the content within the field limits.

  8. You can also select a specific section of the email and use AI to improve only that section.   

Email templates

AI can help you create and refine content for email body blocks in the Email Templates library.
  1. Generate content for a template block
  2. Open the required template and select the block you want to edit.
  3. Click the AI icon.
  4. Provide the context for the template and instructions for the block.
  5. Generate the content.
  6. The generated content replaces the existing block content. You can further refine it using the options available in the AI results window.

Improve existing template content

To refine existing content, click the AI icon and select one of the following options:
  1. Rephrase - Rephrases the content while preserving its original context.
  2. Change Tone - Changes the tone based on the type of template:
  3. Marketing: Conversational (default), Enthusiastic, Exclusive, or Formal
  4. Utility: Clear (default), Reassuring, Empathetic, or Graceful
  5. Length - Shortens or lengthens the content within the field limits.
  6. Simplify - Makes the content easier to read.
  7. Fix Grammar - Corrects grammatical and punctuation errors.
  8. Translate to - Translates the content into the selected language.
  9. Rewrite - Rewrites the entire content using AI.

SMS

AI can help you create or refine the content of your SMS messages.

Generate SMS content

  1. In the SMS text box, click the AI icon next to the formatting options.
  2. Enter your instructions and campaign context.
  3. Click Generate.
  4. After the content is generated, you can adjust its tone, length, or reading level.
  5. Click Insert to add the generated content to your SMS.   

Improve existing SMS content

If you've already written your SMS, click the AI icon to access the following options:
  1. Rephrase - Rephrases the content while preserving its original context.
  2. Change Tone - Changes the tone to Conversational, Formal, Urgent, or Exclusive.
  3. Length - Shortens or lengthens the content within the field limits.
  4. Simplify - Makes the content easier to read.
  5. Fix Grammar - Corrects grammatical and punctuation errors.
  6. Translate to - Translates the content into the selected language.
  7. Rewrite - Rewrites the entire content using AI.
  8. You can also select a specific part of the SMS and use AI to improve only that section.   

WhatsApp messages and templates

AI can help you create and refine content for WhatsApp Marketing and Utility messages.

WhatsApp header

You can use AI to generate content for a WhatsApp marketing text header.
  1. In the header text box, click the AI icon.
  2. Enter your instructions and campaign context.
  3. Click Generate.
  4. The content is generated in the language you've selected.
  5. You can then change the tone, length, or reading level of the generated content. Click Insert when you're satisfied with the result.    

Improve an existing header

Click the AI icon in an existing header to access these options:
  1. Rephrase - Rephrases the content while preserving its original context.
  2. Change Tone - Changes the tone based on the message type:
