How to disconnect WhatsApp in Zoho Campaigns

Disconnecting your WhatsApp Business account

If you no longer want to send WhatsApp campaigns from Zoho Campaigns, or you need to switch to a different WhatsApp Business account, you can disconnect the account that's currently linked. This doc explains how to disconnect it and what happens to your campaigns, Workflows, and templates afterward.

Overview

In this doc, you'll learn:

  • What disconnecting a WhatsApp Business account does

  • How to disconnect the account from Zoho Campaigns

  • What happens to your scheduled campaigns, running Workflows, and message templates

What happens when you disconnect WhatsApp

Disconnecting removes the link between Zoho Campaigns and your WhatsApp Business account. Once it's removed, Zoho Campaigns can't send messages through that account anymore. Anything that depends on the account is affected right away:

  • Scheduled campaigns stop. Their status changes to Stopped, and they won't be sent.

  • WhatsApp campaign reports stop populating data when the account is disconnected.

  • Workflows and Workflow reports that use the account are affected and can't send WhatsApp messages.

  • Templates linked to the account move to an obsolete state. You can still clone or delete them, but you can't edit or use them as they are.

AlertAlert: Review your scheduled campaigns and active Workflows before you disconnect. Anything that relies on this WhatsApp account will stop working.

Disconnect your WhatsApp Business account

  1. Go to Settings, then select Integrations -> Apps from the left pane.

  2. Open WhatsApp. You'll see the connected account's details: Account Name, Account ID, Account Status, and Connected On.

  3. Click the more options (...) icon next to Create Campaign in the top-right corner.

  4. Click Disconnect. The Disconnect WhatsApp Business Account? dialog appears with a summary of what will be affected.

  1. Click Proceed to disconnect the account, or click Cancel to keep it connected.

Once you click Proceed, the account is disconnected and the changes described above take effect.

AlertAlert: Disconnecting stops your scheduled WhatsApp campaigns and makes linked templates obsolete. Reconnecting the account later won't restart stopped campaigns or restore obsolete templates for editing.

After you disconnect

Checking your stopped campaigns

Go to Campaigns -> WhatsApp and open any campaign that was scheduled. Its status shows as Stopped, along with the date and time it was stopped. You can review the campaign's Overview, Contacts, and Configuration tabs, but it won't be sent.

Working with obsolete templates

Templates associated with a disconnected account can only be cloned or deleted; to use them, you must connect a new account, clone the necessary templates, and submit them for approval. Note that reconnecting the account will not restore the previously approved status to these templates.
