How to filter templates by category and channel
What each template does and when to reach for it
A quick reference table showing every template, its category, and the channels it runs on
A workflow template is a pre-built automation that handles a specific marketing scenario end-to-end. Each one comes with the triggers, actions, wait times, and branching logic already wired up based on how most teams run that scenario. You just fill in your own content and audience.
Templates are useful whether you're new to marketing automation and don't know where to start, or you're experienced and want to skip the setup time. They're grouped into categories based on where the customer is in their journey with your business, from first hello to long-term loyalty.
When you start a new workflow, you'll land on the Choose a template to get started screen. Two controls help you narrow down the list to what's relevant.
Along the top of the screen, you'll see a row of category tabs: All Templates, Welcome and Getting Started, Follow-up, Sales and Conversion Boost, Post-Purchase Care, Customer Engagement, Loyalty and Retention, and Reminders and Occasions. Click any tab to filter the grid to just the templates in that category. All Templates is selected by default and shows everything.
Switching tabs doesn't reset your channel filter. If you've already picked a channel, that stays applied as you move across categories.
The All Channels dropdown in the top-right lets you narrow templates by the channel they use. Click it and you'll see four options:
All Channels: shows every template, regardless of which send component they use.
Email: templates that have the Send Email component, i.e. templates that send email campaigns to your contacts.
SMS: templates that have the Send SMS component, i.e. templates that send SMS messages to your contacts.
WhatsApp: templates that have the Send WhatsApp component, i.e. templates that send WhatsApp messages to your contacts.
Pick the channel your team is set up to use and the grid updates instantly. Templates that use more than one channel (for example, Email + WhatsApp) will show up whenever you pick any of their channels.
Idea: Combine the category tab and the channel filter to zero in fast. "Sales and Conversion Boost" + "WhatsApp" will show you just the WhatsApp-powered sales templates like Upsell, with no scrolling. If none of the templates fit what you need, click Start From Scratch in the top-right to build a workflow from zero instead.
Templates are organised into seven categories. Pick the one that matches the stage your audience is in right now.
These templates cover first interactions, the emails, WhatsApp messages, and SMS opt-ins you send when someone has just joined your list, signed up for an account, or made their first purchase. Getting the first few touches right sets the tone for the whole relationship.
