Designing how the campaign looks is the one of the most important part of email marketing. The
Template Editor tool plays a key role in designing effective campaigns.
This guide will provide you with an idea of how issues can be solved, as well as some interesting hacks related to template editor.
Increasing image width
Images provide a better perspective when it comes to email marketing. The precise dimensions for the image helps in achieving the expected outcome. You can increase image width by following these steps:
- Click on the required image.
- Choose Custom from the Image Size dropdown in the Template Editor toolbar.
- Drag and resize the image to increase its width.
When you want to set a header and footer theme specific to a particular campaign that you're about to send, your process may look something like this:
- Create a specific theme.
- Set this specific theme as your default header and footer.
- Send that particular campaign.
- Reset your theme again to the actual default theme you had.
There's a better way
If you feel the above process is a tad tedious, give this method a try:
- Create the required theme.
- After you've saved the content, you can select the specific theme from the Header and Footer theme dropdown.
Alignment in parallel text components
When you put two text components in a single row, there may be uneven spacing in the text components like shown in the following image,
There's a better way
Make sure that there's no rendering issues in other browsers. Set the line height equal for content in both of the text components.
- Select the content in a text component.
- Set the line height.
- Set the same line height for the parallel text component.
Tip
- To ensure that uniform formatting is maintained across text components, please select the same values for the following fields:
- Font family
- Size
- Line height
- If you need one text component wider than other one then,
- Click in between the Column text component.
- Click and drag to resize the components.
Button text size
Sometimes, you may put lengthy bit of content in a button component. When you fit such content in a button component, it does not look good.
If you feel that content that you've drafted needs to go into your campaign, go for the box component instead of the button component for a better look and feel.
Boxed text formatting
Sometimes, you may have a requirement to present a content with increased indentation. You could:
- Insert a text component.
- Manually insert spaces or press the tab button.
This method may lead to formatting issues in some browsers and mobile devices.
There's a better way
Choose Boxed Text component. This has a specific indentation style by default and you can avoid all formatting issues as well.
Email forwarding
Make it a point to add Tell a friend link in all of your email campaigns and encourage your recipients to use that option instead of forwarding the email from their respective email services.
We recommend this method because most email services may not support some formatting styles. In those cases, forwarded emails will not have the formatting applied as you've sent it.
Note:
EU DC users have to follow the below steps to insert Tell a friend link:
- From Navigation toolbar, click Settings and select Merge Tag.
- Copy the Tell a friend merge tag under the Header and Footer tags.
- Paste it in the content.
