Upon creating a workflow and activating it, a report is automatically generated. Detailed reports about your contacts' journey through a workflow are provided in these reports. You can view three different reports about your workflow:
- Version-based report
- Component-based report
- A detailed report
Version-based Reports
Every time you edit an active workflow, a new version is created. You can choose to activate each version of the workflow and view different reports based on the versions created. To view version-based reports:
- From the Navigation toolbar, select Automation and choose Workflows.
- Scroll to find the workflow for which you need a report.
- Select the version of the workflow for which you need a report from the dropdown above the canvas.

- These reports provide details such as
- Entered - The total number of contacts who have entered the workflow including those who have re-enrolled as well.
- Exited - The total number of contacts who have exited the workflow.
- Re-enrolled - The total number of contacts who have re-enrolled the workflow.
- Goal Achieved - The total number of contacts who have achieved their goal by reaching the end of the workflow.
- Clicking any of these will display the list of contacts.
Trace Path
From the list of contacts displayed, you can trace the path taken by your contacts in the workflow. Click on the contacts' email address to trace their path.
You can also trace the contacts path from under the contact path tab. Enter the contact email address and click Trace Path to view the contact's path.
Information such the trigger and time contact entered the workflow, the contact's current stage, the total time the contact spent in the workflow and the action performed on the contact will be listed out. You can choose to remove the contact from the workflow from this page by clicking the remove contact icon as shown in the screenshot below.
Component-based report
This report lets you view details of a contact's journey in a particular component of the workflow. Simply click on the report icon on the particular component to view the report.
To view component-based reports:
- From the Navigation toolbar, select Automation and choose Workflows.
- Scroll to find the workflow for which you need a report.
- Select the version of the workflow for which you need a report from the dropdown above the canvas.
- From the canvas, click on the report icon on each component to get a report.

- You can view the following details:
- Total contacts- The total contact count includes those who have entered and re-enrolled in this component of the workflow. Even though re-enrolled contacts are shown just once, their re-enrollment counts are cumulative.
- Completed - The total number of contacts who have reached the end of the component in the workflow.
- Active - The total number of contacts currently active in a component if the workflow.

Detailed Report
Detailed reports contain more stats than just numbers. They include summary, workflow view, contact-based report, and messages-based report. To view a detail report, click the View Detail Report button, as shown in the screenshot below.
Summary
Select the Summary tab to view the following details:
- Overall report - You can get a timeline of the journey of your contacts in the workflow. View the total number of contacts who have entered the workflow, including re-enrolled contacts and the total number of contacts who have achieved their goal by reaching the end of the workflow.

- Workflow overall stats - You can view the total number of contacts who have entered, re-enrolled, and exited the workflow from these stats.

Workflow View
This workflow view tab gives you version-based and component-based reports for all the contacts who have journeyed through your workflow. You can view:
- Entered - The total contact count includes those who have entered and re-enrolled in the workflow. Even though re-enrolled contacts are shown just once, their re-enrollment counts are cumulative.
- Exited - The total number of contacts who have exited the workflow.
- Re-enrolled - The total number of contacts who have re-enrolled the workflow.
- Goal Achieved - The total number of contacts who have achieved their goal by reaching the end of the workflow.
- Completed - The total number of contacts who have reached the end of the component in the workflow.
- Active - The total number of contacts currently active in a component if the workflow.
The contact-based reports tab gives you detailed information about all contacts who have entered your workflow. From this report you can view:
- Entered - The total contact count includes those who have entered and re-enrolled in the workflow. Even though re-enrolled contacts are shown just once, their re-enrollment counts are cumulative.
- Exited - The total number of contacts who have exited the workflow.
- Re-enrolled - The total number of contacts who have re-enrolled the workflow.
- Goal achieved - The total number of contacts who have achieved their goal by reaching the end of the workflow.
Clicking on each option will display a list of contacts. Click on a contact to get detailed information about them. You can choose to view a list of contacts for a given time period, organize columns, and export the list to your system.
Messages-based Reports
This section gives you details of the messages that have been sent to your contacts, such as:
- Overall Reports - You can see the total number of messages sent, delivered, bounced, opened, clicked, and number of unsubscribes.
- Opens by Time - The total number of messages that have been opened or clicked over a specific time period.

- Message-specific Reports - You can filter out a specific message and get its report such as the total number of messages sent, delivered, bounced, opened, clicked, and number of unsubscribes. Click View Detail Report to get more information about that particular email message.
