Managing outgoing webhooks

Overview

An outgoing webhook lets you send real-time updates from Zoho Connect to third-party apps. You can choose which activities trigger these updates.
 

Who can configure?  

  • By default, only network admins can set up outgoing webhooks.
  • Admins can allow selected users to configure them.

 

How to configure an outgoing webhook?  

  1. Click the gear icon and select Settings from the dropdown.



  2. Select Outgoing Webhook under Automation.



  3. Click Configure.



  4. Enter the name, description (optional), and trigger.



  5. Choose the Action.



    If chosen Send  a POST request, you must enter a Webhook URL.

  6. Choose a failure plan and click Save.


 

Actions supported  

  • Post request- Sends trigger data to a URL. (Requires HTTPS for security.)
  • Custom function- Runs an action like updating Trello, Asana, or Zoho Cliq.

Notes
If the action fails due to temporary issues, it retries up to three times with a 30-minute gap.


How to edit a Webhook  

  1. Click the gear icon and select Settings from the dropdown.



  2. Select Outgoing Webhook under Automation.



  3. Select the webhook you'd like to edit.



  4. In the pop-up, go to the bottom and click Edit Configuration.



  5. Make the required changes and Save.
Notes
The action type cannot be changed after setup


How to delete a Webhook  

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click Outgoing Webhook.
  3. Select the webhook you'd like to delete and click the trash icon.


 

Execution limits

Each plan has execution and configuration limits.

Once you hit the limit, webhooks pause until 12:00 AM the next day.
 

To check usage:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click Outgoing Webhook under Automation.


    You can see the usage details on the top-right corner.
