Creating categories for Groups in Zoho Connect

Overview

Keep your left menu organized and clutter-free by creating categories for your Groups. This also helps with easy and quick navigation. For example, you can create a category like "frequently used" and put the Groups you access most often in it.

Who can create a category? 

Anyone in the network can create categories. This action is user-specific, and the categories you create are visible only to you.
Network admins can also create categories for members who haven't yet created categories for themselves.  Click here to learn more about creating categories for network members. 

How do I create a new category?  

  1. Click on the (...) three dots next to the (+) New Group button on extended menu.

  2. Select New Category option from the pop-up.  
  3. Add a name for the new category in the Category Name field. You can also add a description if you need.
  4. Click Add Group and select the Groups that need to be listed under the category.
  5. Click Create.

What happens once a category is created?

The Groups you've added to the category will be listed under it. You can expand and collapse the category to keep your side bar organized. 

How do I edit a category? 

Use the edit option to add or remove groups from a category and to rename the category title. To edit: 
  1. Click Groups from the main menu on the left.
  2. Navigate to the category you want to edit in the extended menu.
  3. Click the ellipsis [...] next to the category name.
     
  4. Click Edit from the dropdown.
     
  5. In the pop-out, make the required changes to the category name and groups in it.
  6. To remove a group from the category, click the cross mark [] next to the group name.    
  7. Click Save
           

How do I delete a category? 

  1. Click Groups in the main menu on the left.
  2. Navigate to the required category in the extended menu.
  3. Click the ellipsis (...) next to the category name.
     
  4. Click Delete from the dropdown.
