Overview
Create or mark a post as mandatory read when you require members to read the particular post. Members will be notified of mandatory read posts, and upon opening the post, they will be prompted to complete an acknowledgment action.
Why use mandatory reads?
Mandatory reads can help organizations replace the existing process of getting documents signed by members as proof of acknowledgment. This also enables admins to easily track down who all have read the important information and send reminders to the members who have not read the post yet.
Who can mark a post as mandatory read?
The network admins can mark a post as mandatory read in the network wall, and the group admins can mark a post as mandatory read in their respective Groups.

The option to mark a post as mandatory read is not available for posts shared on the users' wall.
How to create a mandatory read post?
In the network wall/group wall, write a post like you usually would.
Click

in the
top-right corner of the editor while creating your post.
- In the pop-up, select the deadline and reminder settings.

- Change the acknowledgment message, button text and color, if you want.

A live preview will be shown at the bottom for your reference.
- Click Save to apply changes.

How to mark an existing post as a mandatory read?
- Go to the required post.
- Click the ellipses (...) found in the top-right corner of the post.

- Select Mark as Mandatory Read from the dropdown menu.

- In the pop-up, select the deadline and reminder settings.

- Change the acknowledgment message, button text and color, if you want.

A live preview will be shown at the bottom for your reference.
- Click Save to apply changes.

What happens once you mark a post as mandatory read?
The post will have a mandatory tag to help users distinguish it from other posts. The members will receive a notification about the post. After reading the post, they'll have to complete the acknowledgment action.
How to view post details and send reminders?
- Navigate to the required post.
- Click View Report found in the top-right corner of the post.

- In the pop-out, you'll be able to see the list of members who have read and not read the posts.
- To remind the particular user to read the post, click Send a reminder found next to the user's name.

- To send reminders to everyone, click Remind all.

How to remove a post from mandatory read?
- Go to the required mandatory read post.
- Click the ellipses (...) found in the top-right corner of the post.
- Select Manage Mandatory Read from the dropdown menu.

- In the pop-up, click Remove Mandatory Read at the bottom-left corner.

How can members acknowledge a mandatory read post?
- Click Feeds from the left menu.
- Click Mandatory Reads from the extended menu.
- Go to the required post.
- Scroll to the acknowledgment section at the bottom.
- Select the checkbox beside the acknowledgment message.

- Click Submit.
The acknowledgment action does not apply to the user who created or marked the post as a mandatory read.
