Reset badges and points

Overview

Badges and points in Zoho Connect are designed to recognize contributions, encourage participation, and build a culture of appreciation in your company.
Over time, however, you may want to start fresh (for example, at the beginning of a new quarter, after launching a new recognition program, or when setting up gamification rules from scratch). The Reset option helps admins clear all of a network's existing badges and points so everyone has clean slate.

What happens when you reset badges and points?  

On resetting badges and points:
  • All earned badges by members are removed.
  • All accumulated points are set back to zero.
  • New activity after the reset counts toward badges and points as usual.
Notes
Please note that after a reset, all previous badges and points are permanently deleted.

Who can reset badges and points?  

Only network admins can reset badges and points in Zoho Connect.

When should you use the reset option  ?

Here are some scenarios where resetting might be needed:
  • For new quarterly or annual recognition cycles
  • When you revamp the gamification rules, scoring methods, or introduce new badges
  • When you want to ensure fair competition for both existing and new members.
  • When conducting a company-wide rewards program

How to reset badges and points  

For a one-time reset:

  1. Go to Settings from the right side menu.



  2. Select Advanced under Gamification.



  3. Click Expand next to Manual Reset.



  4. Choose your reset preferences and click Reset.



  5. In the pop-up, click Reset to confirm.




NotesYou can reset just points, just badges, or both.

To set recurring resets:

  1. Click Expand next to Schedule Reset.


  2. Choose your automatic schedule preferences, and click Schedule reset.



  3. Once a reset is scheduled, an info label will appear to show the date of the upcoming reset.

 

Tips

  • Before resetting points or badges, communicate with your members so they understand why it’s happening.
  • If you want to store recognition history, export reports before resetting.
  • Plan resets at the start of new recognition cycles to keep the process smooth.
  • Keep in mind that the reset does not affect badge templates or rules; it only clears earned badges and points.
