Overview

The Ideas module in Zoho Connect gives a dedicated space to share, discover, crowdsource, and evaluate the most impactful ideas from everyone in an organization. Additionally, they can be categorized and placed in context, bringing the best ideas to the attention of managers and decision-makers.

Every idea is associated with two important elements — categories and status. 
  1. Categories
Categories help to group ideas shared around a similar topic. They give context to every idea and make it easier to search and filter them.
  1. Status
Status helps you to track the progress of an idea. By default, you'll have three statuses— new, in progress, and completed. Additionally, network admins can create custom statuses as per their organization's requirements. These statuses are common to the entire network. 
 Categories can be specific to a Group or the network wall, whereas, status is common to the entire network. 

How do I enable Ideas module for the network?

Network admins can choose whether they need the Ideas module in their network and can enable or disable the app to suit their needs. To enable gamification: 
  1. Click the gear icon [] in the right menu.
  2. Select Settings from the dropdown.

  3. In the Settings page, click Manage Apps under Apps and Features.

  4. From the list of features, scroll to Ideas, then toggle the button next to it.

Ideas Dashboard

The Ideas Dashboard gives you a consolidated view of ideas shared across different Groups and related metrics such as posts shared in each category, popular ideas, and top contributors. You can also use the filter options to view ideas with a particular status or use the sort option to view ideas with most up-votes. 
 
To view Ideas Dashboard:
  1. Click Ideas in the main menu on the left. 
  2. Or, if you can't find Ideas among the modules, click the ellipsis (...) at the bottom of the main menu on the left, then select Ideas from the list of options. 

  3. Click Dashboard in the extended menu.
      
At the top of the Dashboard, you'll find the filter tab using which you can view posts shared in a specific time or status.     
             
On the right side of the Dashboard, you'll see different metrics such as total number of ideas shares, popular ideas, and top contributors.        
            

My Ideas

The My Ideas tab will exclusively list all the ideas you shared across different Groups in one place. From here, you can quickly check the status of your ideas and act on them. 
 
To view the My Ideas tab:  
  1. Click Ideas in the main menu on the left.
  2. Click My Ideas in the extended menu.

Ideas - Bookmarks

The Bookmarks tab within the Ideas module will list all the ideas you saved excluding other posts. 
 
To view your bookmarked ideas: 
  1. Click Ideas in the main menu on the left.
  2. Click Bookmarks in the extended menu.
