Feature availability
Overview
Private comments in Zoho Connect allow users to have private discussions within posts, hiding them from everyone except the intended participants.
Who can post and access private comments?
Eligibility: Anyone can create a private comment in a post based on the settings set by the admin.
Access: The members added to a private comment by the commentator can view and reply to it. By default, the post author will have access to all private comments made under their post.
Private comments can be created for feed, task, article, forum posts, and anywhere else where a comment section is available.
Go to the post where you want to add a private comment.
Draft your thoughts in the comment section.
Click the lock icon next to the post button to make your comment private.
Search and add users whom you want to view your private comment.
Once done, click Post.
You can see the private comments of a post if you are part of it. Private comments label with the count of comments will be shown like given below.
When you click this label, the list of private comments will be shown in pop-up. You can also add members from here by clicking the + icon in the top-right corner of the header.
From the dropdown, search for and select the members you want to add.

You can react, reply, delete, and edit private comments.
Admins can enable and disable private comments based on their preferences.
Go to the Settings page.
- Select One-on-one conversations and Channels option under Policies.

- Select the No one option under the Who can comment privately section.

If needed, you can limit the private comments accessibility to your org members instead of disabling it for every one.
