Overview

You can use the Assign Copies option in Zoho Connect to create one or more copies of a task and directly assign them to individual users. This helps when you need several people to perform the same task individually, like when members should submit their feedback form. 

Who can assign copies of a task? 

Only the board admins and the task owner can assign copies of the task. 

How do I assign copies of a task?

  1. Click Tasks in the main menu on the left.
  2. Select the required Board in the extended menu and navigate to the required task.
  3. Click the ellipsis [...] in the top-right corner of the task details pop-up.
  4. Select Assign Copies in the dropdown menu.

  5. In the pop-up, enter the name of the users you want to assign copies to.
  6. Click Copy & Assign.


What happens after assigning the copies of a task?

Once you assign the copies, you'll find one copy for each assignee selected, under the same Board and section. This means each assignee will have their own task that is independent of the other copies.
The task name, description, attachments, and checklist items will be retained in the copies, so everyone has the context they need to complete the task.

How is assigning copies different from adding multiple assignees to the same task? 

When multiple assignees work on a task, the task will be marked as completed even when one of the assignees completes it.  However, by assigning copies, each assignee will have their own task which will be independent of the other copies, which they can complete separately.
