Private sections in Zoho Connect boards

Overview

For tasks specific to the project, but relevant or confidential only to a few members on the board, simply make a section as private to add and assign tasks. This section will be accessible only to the members of the specific section and the board admin.

Who can make a section private?

Only the admin(s) for the board can switch a regular section to a private one and add members to that section.

How to make a section private?

  1. Click Tasks from the menu in the left and navigate to the specific board.
  2. Hover above the section name to see the inverted triangle icon.

  1. Click the inverted triangle and from the dropdown use the toggle to make the section a private one.

  1. Existing assignees of the tasks and checklist items in that section will be automatically added as members of the section.
  2. Only the section members will be able to access the tasks in the section.

Depending on the permissions set for the entire board, members of the private section will be able to create, assign, and mark tasks as complete, within that section. Only members of the private section can be assigned to tasks/checklist items added in that section.

How to add members to the private section?

  1. Hover above the section name to see the inverted triangle icon.
  2. Click the inverted triangle and from the dropdown click the + icon next to the privacy toggle.

  1. From the list of members in the board, select the ones to be added to this section.

How to remove privacy for the section?

  1. Hover above the section name to see the inverted triangle icon.
  2. Click the inverted triangle and from the dropdown use the Private toggle to remove privacy.

  1. The section will now be accessible to all members in the board.
Private sections are only available in Zoho Connect's enterprise plan.
