In Zoho Contracts, you can import your contracts in the draft, signed, or active statuses and manage their entire lifecycle. You can also import expired contracts to keep track of them within Zoho Contracts.
Import a Contract Draft
- Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
- Click Import Contract at the top-right corner of the contracts listing page.
- Choose Draft from the Contract Status picklist, select the Contract Type of the contract you want to import, and then click Continue.
- Enter the details in the Contract Details form, then click Next.
- Drag and drop the contract draft document in the Upload Document section or click inside the section to browse and select the file from your computer to upload.
- If you want to edit the values in the Contract Details form, click Previous to return to the Contract Details form and edit them.
- Click Import after entering the correct values in the Contract Details form and uploading the document.

The contract will be imported in the Draft status along with the contract document that you uploaded.
Note:
The contract's effective date, expiration, termination, and obligation schedules will be based on the selected Time Zone. To select a specific Time Zone other than the Organization's or Counterparty's, select Other under Time Zone, then choose the desired Time Zone. You can also change the contract's Time Zone during its Draft status.
Import a Signed and Not Yet Active Contract
- Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
- Click Import Contract at the top-right corner of the contracts listing page.
- Choose Signed and Not Yet Active from the Contract Status picklist, select the Contract Type of the contract you want to import, and then click Continue.
- Enter the details in the Contract Details form, then click Next.
- Drag and drop the contract document in the Original Document section or click inside the section to browse and select the file from your computer to upload. This document will be available in Zoho Contracts, and you can update it during future amendments.
- Drag and drop the signed contract document in the Signed Contract section or click inside the section to browse and select the file from your computer to upload.
- If the contract was signed using a digital signature application, you can upload the digital signature certificate. Drag and drop the digital signature certificate in the Digi Sign Certificate section or click inside the section to browse and select the file from your computer to upload.
- If you want to edit the values in the Contract Details form, click Previous to return to the Contract Details form and edit them.
- Click Import after entering the correct values in the Contract Details form and uploading the documents.
The contract will be imported in the Signed status along with the original document, signed document, and digital signature certificate. It will become Active on the date you entered in the Contract Details form's Effective Date field.
Import a Signed and Active Contract
- Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
- Click Import Contract at the top-right corner of the contracts listing page.
- Choose Signed and Active from the Contract Status picklist, select the Contract Type of the contract you want to import, and then click Continue.
- Enter the details in the Contract Details form, then click Next.
- Drag and drop the contract document in the Original Document section or click inside the section to browse and select the file from your computer to upload. This document will be available in Zoho Contracts, and you can update it during future amendments.
- Drag and drop the signed contract in the Signed Contract section or click inside the section to browse and select the file from your computer to upload.
- If the contract was signed using a digital signature application, you can upload the digital signature certificate. Drag and drop the digital signature certificate in the Digi Sign Certificate section or click inside the section to browse and select the file from your computer to upload.
- Click Next after uploading the necessary documents to the Upload Files page.
- If the current contract term is that of the original contract, select Original Contract from the current contract term radio button in the Agreement History Details page.
- If the current contract term is that of an amended or renewed contract, select Amended Contract or Renewed Contract from the current contract term radio button in the Agreement History Details page, then click Add Original Contract. Enter the details of the original contract and upload the relevant documents in the Add Details window, then click Add. After that, click Add Amendment Details or Add Renewal Details and enter the details and upload the relevant documents in the Add Details window, then click Add. If the contract has gone through multiple amendments or renewals, add them in chronological order.

- If you have an upcoming executed amendment or renewal for the contract, select Yes from the upcoming executed amendment or renewal radio button in the Agreement History Details page, then click Add Amendment Details or Add Renewal Details. Enter the details and upload the relevant documents in the Add Details window, then click Add.
- If you want to edit the values in the Contract Details form, click Previous to return to the Contract Details form and edit them.
- Click Import after entering the correct values in the Contract Details form and uploading the contract documents.
The contract will be imported in the Active status.

Note:
For the imported active contracts that are renewable, the current contract term radio button will have the Renewed Contract option available on the Agreement History Details page.
Import an Expired Contract
- Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
- Click Import Contract at the top-right corner of the contracts listing page.
- Choose Expired from the Contract Status picklist, select the Contract Type of the contract you want to import, and then click Continue.
- Enter the details in the Contract Details form, then click Next.
- Drag and drop the contract document in the Original Document section or click inside the section to browse and select the file from your computer to upload.
- Drag and drop the signed contract in the Signed Contract section or click inside the section to browse and select the file from your computer to upload.
- If the contract was signed using any digital signature application, you can upload the digital signature certificate. Drag and drop the digital signature certificate in the Digi Sign Certificate section or click inside the section to browse and select the file from your computer to upload.
- Click Next after uploading the necessary documents to the Upload Files page.
- If you've already amended, extended, or renewed the contract and have the respective contract letters as separate documents, you can add their details in chronological order on the Agreement History Details page. Click Add Details, enter the details, upload the required documents, and then click Add.
- If you want to edit the values in the Contract Details form, click Previous to return to the Contract Details form and edit them.
- Click Import after entering the correct values in the Contract Details form and uploading the documents.
The contract will be imported in the Expired status along with the original document, signed document, and digital signature certificate.
