For counterparty-initiated contracts, you can either request the counterparty to terminate a contract or add the termination details if the contract has already been terminated.
Request Termination
- Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
- Click to open the Active contract that you request to terminate.
- Click More
at the top right corner of the contract details page, then choose Request/Add Termination Details. - Select the Request Termination checkbox under the Request or Add Termination Details dialog box.
- Enter the termination details in the Request or Add Termination Details dialog box.
- Click Next. The Send Email step will appear with the email address of the counterparty's primary contact populated in the To field and the termination requested contract document attached, by default.
- Check the Add Cc checkbox to copy other people in the Request Termination email.
- Enter the Subject and the Message of the email, then click Send.
The contract termination request will be sent, and the counterparty's primary contact will receive the termination request email.
Note:
- When adding the Financial Details in the Terminate Contract dialog box, if you select the option None for the Balance Amount field and click Add, it will display the gain or loss from the deal in the contract along with the initial and final contract amounts.
- You will not be able to add renewal, extension, or amendment details during the Termination Request Sent state. However, you can delete the termination request and then add renewal, extension, or amendment details.
- If the termination effective date in the previous termination request has passed, you can set a new date and resend the termination request by clicking More
and Resend Termination Request.
Add Termination Details
- Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
- Click to open the Active contract that you request to terminate.
- Click More
at the top of the contract details page, then choose Request/Add Termination Details. - Select the Add Termination Details checkbox under the Request or Add Termination Details dialog box.
- Enter the Termination Details in the Request or Add Termination Details dialog box. If the intent of the contract is to buy or sell, the option to add Financial Details will appear at the bottom of the Request or Add Termination Details dialog box.
- Click
icon to enter the amount paid/received and balance to pay/receive in the Amount Paid Till Date or Amount Received Till Date and Balance Amount fields, then click Add.
Note:
- You can upload the Termination letter or document in .pdf format.
- The maximum allowed file size is 100 MB.
- You will not be able to add renewal, extension, or amendment details after adding the termination details.
Viewing Termination Details
- Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
- Click to open the contract in the Terminated state.
- Hover over the Information icon
. A dialog box will display the termination details.
Note: When a contract is scheduled for termination at a later date, an alert message will be displayed in the contract details page. Click View Details on the alert to view the termination details.
