Co-Authoring and Reviewing Contract


Edit a Contract Shared with You 

  1. Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page. 
  2. Click the name of the view at the top-left corner of the contracts list page, then select the Shared With Me view from the dropdown menu. 
  3. Click to open the contract that you want to edit and proceed with editing the contract document. For more information on editing the contract document, see Creating and Authoring a Contract

Note:

  • Only collaborators with the Write permission can edit the contract document.
  • Collaborators can only edit the content of the contract document. They cannot edit other information in the contract details panel on the left. 


Add Contextual Comments

  1. Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page. 
  2. Click the name of the view at the top-left corner of the contracts list page and select Shared With Me view. 
  3. Click to open the contract you want to add comments to.
  4. Select the Review Mode at the top of the document editor. 
  5. Select the text you want to add a comment for, then click Add Comment  on the toolbar at the top of the document editor. 
  6. Enter the comment in the window that opens up on the right panel, then change the comment visibility from the dropdown menu if needed, and then click Add. By default, My Organization Members is set in the comment visibility dropdown menu.

Note:

  1. When My Organization Members is set in the comment visibility dropdown menu, the comment will be visible to the contract owner, approvers, and collaborators. Only the collaborators with Write or Comment permission can view the comment.
  2. If you choose Everyone in the comment visibility dropdown menu, the comment will be visible to the negotiators, contract owner, approvers, and collaborators. Only the negotiators with Edit or Comment permission and collaborators with Write or Comment permission can view the comment.  
  3. In Review mode, the comments will be available in the Comments panel on the right of the contract details page. 
  4. In Compose mode, clicking the commented text will display the comment.

Tip: You can also add comment from the smart tool bar. To do so, select the text you want to add a comment for, then click Add Comment  on the smart toolbar that opens up. Only members with Write permission can add comments from the smart toolbar.  


Fill Document Fields 

  1. Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page. 
  2. Click the name of the view at the top-left corner of the contracts list page and select the Shared With Me view. 
  3. Click to open the contract you want to fill in the document fields in.
  4. Click Fields Form at the top of the document editor, click Show Fields Form, fill in all the Value fields, then click Save.

Note: If you have the Fill Fields Only permission for a contract, you can enter values either from the Fields Form panel on the left or by clicking directly on the field and filling it in through the pop-up.





Edit or Delete a Comment

  1. Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page. 
  2. Click the name of the view at the top-left corner of the contracts list page and select the Shared With Me view. 
  3. Click to open the contract you want to edit or delete a comment in. 
  4. Select the Review mode at the top of the document editor.
  5. Select the Comments panel on the right.
  6. Hover the mouse pointer over the comment that you want to edit or delete, then click More
  7. Choose Edit or Delete
NotesNote: In Compose mode, clicking the commented text will display the comment in a pop-up.
