Sending for Signature

Edit Ending Text

In the contract execution stage, the contract owner may need to add more signature placeholders in the ending text of the contract document based on the number of signers added in the contract. In Zoho Contracts, the contract owner can do this without moving the contract to the Draft status.

To edit the ending text of the contract:
  1. Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
  2. Click to open the contract in the Negotiated state that you want to edit the ending text for.
  3. Click Edit Ending Text at the top of the contract details page.
  4. If the contract already has signature placeholders and you want to add more, place the cursor at your chosen table cell of the existing signer details table and insert new table cells using the Table Customizations . After that, place the cursor in a newly inserted table cell, click Insert Signatory Block in the Edit Ending Text window to add the placeholders for the signer details. Repeat this step for all the new signers.
  5. If you want to add signature placeholders to the contract for the first time, click Table in the Edit Ending Text window and select the number of cells based on the number of contract signers. After that, place the cursor in a table cell, click Insert Signatory Block to add the placeholders for the signer details. Repeat this step for all the signers.
  6. Click Update.

If you are one of the signers on the contract, you can sign it immediately after sending — without waiting for the email. To do so:
  1. Check the Sign the document right after sending checkbox in the Confirm Details pop-up window while sending a contract for signature.
  2. Click Save & sign.
  3. Click Send OTP, if Recipient authentication is enabled.
  4. Enter the OTP received, then click Proceed to document.
  5. Fill in the signature fields, then click Finish at the top-right corner.

Notes
Note:
You can self-sign a contract in two scenarios:
  1. You are the first signer when a signing order is set.
  2. You are added as an in-person signer.
