Create Apps Using Zia Assistance

1. What Does This Page Cover?

Learn how you can build a fully functional Creator application using Zia AI's assistance by simply describing your app's requirements to the AI using conversational prompts. The AI will then design it for you, accelerating application development.

2. Availability

Zia-assisted applications
  1. Is available only for paid plans of Creator
  2. Can only be enabled, created, and managed by the super admin.  Admins and developers can create and manage AI-assisted apps, while other users can access those apps
  3. Is available in the United States (.com), Europe (.eu), India (.in), Australia (.au), and Canada (.cadata centers

3.3.1 Prerequisites

For your OpenAI API key to work, ensure that you are on a paid plan and have sufficient API credits.

  1. You must have an OpenAI account along with an API key from your OpenAI account to use this feature in Creator. To get the OpenAI API key,
    1. Navigate to Settings in your OpenAI account and select the Billing section.

    2. Click the Add Payment Details button in the Settings page and add your required details.
    3. Next, navigate to the API keys section and click Create new secret key.

    4. Enter a name (optional) and choose the required project.
    5. Click Create secret key. The key will be generated. You can copy and use it in Creator's Zia settings.

  2. Before you can create apps using Zia, configure your OpenAI API key in Zia Settings and enable the Zia - Open AI integration for your Creator account.

Step 1: Configure Zia - OpenAI Integration

1. Navigate to Operations in your Creator account.
2. Click Zia in the Applications card. The Settings screen will appear.

3. Click Add API Key in the Configuration tab. A popup will appear.

4. Enter your OpenAI API Key and click Add

5. Edit this key by clicking the edit icon after saving. 

6. Enter the new key or update the existing key and click Save in the popup that appears.

7. Toggle the Access button beside Create Applications in the Select Features section. By default, this button will be enabled. Enabling it will allow you to use the combined capabilities of Zia and OpenAI to create applications.
As an super admin/admin, you can disable the toggle button as required. This will disable this feature for your Creator account.

Step 2 : Create an app with the help of AI

1. Navigate to the Solutions page in your Creator account.
2. Click the + Create Solution button at the top-right corner.
3. Hover on the Applications card and click Select.
4. Choose one of the below options depending upon your application scenario.
  1. If you haven't configured the Zia - OpenAI integration (refer to above section), click Configure in the Create using AI card. Click Go to Settings in the popup that appears.
  2. If you've already configured the Zia - OpenAI integration, click Create in the Create using AI card.

  1. If you've already configured the Zia - OpenAI integration but disabled the toggle button beside Create Applications in Zia Settings, click Enable in the Create using AI card. You'll be taken to the Zia Settings page.
After enabling Create Applications in Zia Settings, you'll be redirected to the Create create app using Zia page, where you can describe your app.
5. Provide a brief description of the application you want to create and click Generate Use Cases. Here, let's build an app to track orders for a hotel and you can enter order management for hotels.

By default, three use cases will be generated. You can generate up to five use cases (including custom use case) by clicking the Generate Use Cases button.
6. Click Generate to generate additional use cases relevant to your application.

7. Click Add Custom to add your custom use case relevant to the application you want to create, then click Add
When you try to add a use case that might not be relevant to your applications context, a confirmation popup will appear. You can click Proceed to add that custom use case.

8. Hover over a generated use case and click the delete icon to delete a use case. Then click Delete in the popup that appears.
Note: You need to have at least one use case to proceed in creating an application using Zia.
9. Click Re-generate Use Cases to regenerate use cases as required.
  1. You can regenerate use cases only after all the five use cases have been generated in the first place.
  2. If you've added a custom use case and click Regenerate, all the use cases will be regenerated irrespective of the use cas etype.

10. Click Re-generate in the popup that appears.

11. Check Include sample app data (if required) to include sample data we provide in your application. You'll be taken to the import interface's Data tab.
  1. The sample data generated for each use case showcases a real-world scenario but uses fictitious data.
  2. Including sample data at this stage makes the process of application creation a tad easier as it helps you visualize how a working application will look with data populated.
  3. If you've checked the Include sample app data option, the Data tab will be pre-filled with sample data. 
12. Click Generate Application Layout to let Zia create an application (no data) with necessary forms.  A table with data that includes typical order details is created for you.

Step 3: Review the table for your app

Based on what you described, AI generates use cases generated which in turn will be used to design tables (forms) for each of the use cases generated for your app in the previous step. You can now take the following actions. 
  1. Please note that AI-generated use cases will be collectively used to aid in relevant application and form creation.
  2. To know the list of field types that will not be included in the forms generated based on use cases, you can click here. However, you can add these fields post accessing your form.
  3. The tables generated may also contain lookup fields that enable you to lookup data from another form in the same application.
NoteThe below actions except editing app and form names are applicable only when you choose to include sample data.
  1. Filter: Filtering the data in your table can help you decide which data is to be refined, then imported into the to-be created application. 
  2. Find and Replace: You can find a value across a table or in one of its columns, and replace it with another. 
  3. Refine Data: You can perform smart data refining operations.
  4. Smart Suggestions: You can finalize the table after working on the actions suggested by Zia, the AI assistant.
  5. Edit app and form names: You can modify the app name, table names, and their properties.

Step 4: Create app

When you're ready to create your app, after you're done viewing and refining your data,
1. Click Create from the top-right corner of the import interface. A pop-up showing the progress will appear.

2. Click Access Application to access the newly-created application.

You'll be taken to one of your application reports, in which you can add records.

4. Manage OpenAI API Usage

To view the monthly usage of OpenAI API, 
1. Navigate to Operations in your Creator account.
2. Click Zia in the Applications card. The Settings screen will appear.

3. Click the Usage tab. 

4. Click the Go To OpenAI button at the center. You'll be taken to the OpenAI developer platform login page.
5. Log in to your OpenAI account that contains the API key used for this integration. 
6. Navigate to the side bar, select API keys, and verify the API key used.
7. Click on Usage to view the monthly usage of APIs in your Open AI organization.

5. Limitations

  1. OpenAI API Rate limits: Rate limits are restrictions that OpenAI's API imposes on the number of times a user or client can access their services within a specified period of time and vary based on their usage tier and the model consumed.
