Add and import choices

Notes Applicable to the following choice fields: Drop down , radio , multi select , and checkbox .

Zoho Creator offers the following options for adding choices to the above-mentioned fields. Choose that which works best for you.

In your form builder, you can view upto 200 choices at a time by clicking View more at the end of each set of 200 choices. You can view upto 5000 choices altogether, after which View more option will not be visisble. This restriction is in place to prevent slowness in loading of the form builder.


Add a choice

  1. Open the form builder.
  2. Drag and drop the required field (drop down field, multi select field, or radio field) onto the form builder.
  3. Navigate to the Field Properties > Choices section on the right.
  4. Click the + icon next to any existing choice. An input box will appear.
  5. Type the new choice in the input box.

Add or import multiple choices in one go

  1. Open the form builder.
  2. Select the required field.
  3. Navigate to the Field Properties > Choices  section on the right.
  4. Click Advanced and choose Import Predefined Choices.

  5. In the pop-up window that appears:
    1. Select Add your own choices.
    2. Remove/delete the given choices ( Choice 1, Choice 2, Choice 3 ).
    3. Copy-and-paste or type the required choices. Ensure that each choice is in a separate line:
  6. Click Done. The choices you add will be appended to the existing choices.

Import predefined choices

  1. Open the form builder. Select the required field.
  2. Navigate to the Field Properties > Choices section on the right.
  3. Click Advanced and choose Import Predefined Choices. In the pop-up window that appears:
    1. Select any of the predefined sets (Gender, Age, Employment, etc.). The choices for that set will appear on the right.
    2. Hover on a choice from the set. The trash can icon will appear. Click the trash icon if you do not want that choice to be added to your field.

  4. Click Done. The choices you select will be appended to the existing choices.

Copy choices to clipboard

  1. Open the form builder. Select the required field.
  2. Navigate to the Field Properties > Choices section on the right.
  3. Click Advanced and choose Copy choices to clipboard.
  4. Open another form and repeat steps 1 & 2. 
  5. Click Advanced and choose Import Predefined Choices.
  6. In the pop-up window that appears:
    1. Select  Add your own choices.
    2. Paste and edit the copied choices.

  7. Click Done. The choices you select will be appended to the existing choices.
