Converting leads in Zoho CRM iOS app
In a sales process, not every person you reach out to is ready to buy right away. Leads are potential customers you're still exploring. When a lead shows interest and is worth pursuing, you convert the lead. This creates a Contact and an Account in Zoho CRM, so all their details are saved and easy to access. You can also create a Deal if they're ready to move forward with a purchase.
To convert a lead
- Go to the Leads module.
- Open the lead record you want to convert.
- Tap Convert (
) in the record actions bar (alongside Email, Check-in, and Call).
- Review the Account and Contact information that appears.
- Tap Create New Deal if you want to associate a deal with this record.
- Tap Assigned To if you want to change the record owner, and select a new owner.
- Tap Convert
Before you convert: Make sure the lead has a company name in the Company field. This is required to create an Account during conversion.
No convert button? If you don't see a convert button, contact your CRM administrator to check your roles permission.
What happens after conversion
When you convert a lead, Zoho CRM created three new records.
- Contact- The individual person from the lead record (Always created)
- Account- The company associated with that person (Only if the lead has a company name)
- Deal- The potential deal now you want to pursue (Only if you choose to create one during conversion)
All the notes, activities and field data from the original lead record gets carried over to the new records.
