For example, consider the fields Department and Role in your Leads module. The values available in the Role field will depend on the Department you select. If you choose Sales, you might see roles like Sales Executive or Account Manager.
Similarly, take Product and Category. The list of Products shown will depend on the Category selected.
Map Dependency lets you define which options appear in a child field based on the selected option in a parent field.
Notes:
Parent and child fields include all option-based fields available in the layout and subform. Multi-select picklist fields can be used only as child fields.
A child field can be used as a parent field in another dependency mapping.
The layout must contain at least two option-based fields (picklist, multi-select picklist or radio button fields).
Subform fields appear with the subform name shown in brackets. Parent fields within a subform can be mapped only to fields that belong to the same subform.

To map field dependencies
- Log in to Zoho CRM with Administrative privileges.
- Go to More Options on the module for which you want to create a map dependency. Navigate to Manage and Share > Manage Modules.
From Manage Modules, open the Map Dependency Fields tab.
Alternatively, go to Setup > Customization > Modules and Fields, open the required module, and access Map Dependency Fields.
- Click on the Create Map Dependency button.
- Select the Layout.
- Select the Parent Field. Fields are grouped by type.

- When there are more than 10 picklist or radio button options, a search bar appears. Use it to quickly find and associate the field you need.
- Select the Child Field.
- Click Next.
Map child field options for each parent field option:
- For less than 50 options, select values from the dropdown or Advanced drop-down.
- For 50 and above options, Advanced view is provided for easier selection.

(Tip: Use Shift + select to choose a range of options)
- Review mapped values in the Preview screen.

- Click Save.
Now when you create or edit a record, the child field values change based on the parent field selection.
