Edison's email parsing technology is now integrated with Zoho CRM. This extension lets you capture data from emails sent to your Gmail account and transfer it to Zoho CRM. Now, you can automatically sync important information in Gmail with contacts, deals, purchases, and events in your Zoho CRM account.

When you install the Edison extension, the following components will be added to Zoho CRM:

• Edison Sync: A web tab that lets you configure your Gmail account and choose which modules data will be synced with.
• Edison Info: A custom module where the deals, bills, and purchase details from your Gmail account are synced.

Install Edison extension

You can install the Edison extension either from the Zoho Marketplace or log in to your Zoho CRM account and install it.

To install from Zoho CRM

1. Go to Setup > Marketplace > All.
2. Click All Extensions and then click Edison.
3. Click Continue to Install.
4. Agree to the terms of service and then click Install Now.
5. Choose one of the following:
   
   • Install for admin only: The Edison extension will only be installed for users with an administrator profile.
   • Install for all users: The Edison extension will be installed for all users.
   • Choose profiles: The Edison extension will be installed for select users. If you choose this option, click Continue and select the profiles you want to install the extension for.
6. Click Confirm.

Configure sync settings

When the Edison extension is successfully installed, add the Gmail accounts you want to sync with Zoho CRM and configure the modules which the data needs to be synced to.

To configure sync settings

1. Click the Edison Sync web tab.
   The Dashboard page will open.
   
2. Click the Click Here link.
   You will be directed to the Settings page.
3. In the Settings page, select the Zoho CRM modules you want to sync data with.
   
4. Click Dashboard.
5. Click the Add Email Account button and authorize the Gmail account.
   The authorized account will be displayed under Email Accounts.
   
6. Use the toggle switch next to the Gmail account to start or stop data sync.
   

Note

• You can configure more than one Gmail account by clicking the Add Email Account button in the top right corner of the Dashboard page.
• Data from all authorized Gmail accounts will be synced with your Zoho CRM account and data sync can be managed with the toggle switches for the accounts.
• The Zoho CRM modules to sync data with can be managed from the Settings page.

View synced information

Data will be gathered from all configured Gmail accounts and synced with corresponding modules in Zoho CRM.

To view synced information

1. Click the Contacts module to view the contacts gathered from your configured Gmail accounts.
   Their Lead Source will be Edison.
   
2. Click the Purchase Orders module to view all information relating to purchases, product names, vendor names, and grand totals.
3. Click the Meetings module to view event details.
4. Click the Edison Info custom module to view deals, purchases with insufficient data, and bills.
5. Click the Edison Details custom related list to view email content.
   

Uninstall Edison extension

1. Go to Setup > Marketplace > All.
   All the installed extensions will be listed.
2. Browse for Edison and click Uninstall link.
3. Click Ok.
