SurveyMonkey Extension - Online Help - Zoho CRM


SurveyMonkey is a survey platform where you can create simple to complex surveys and analyze those valuable responses. This extension helps you bring those surveys and survey responses in your Zoho CRM account and associates them with the CRM contacts. The surveys are added as campaigns and the contacts can be synchronized one-way from SurveyMonkey to Zoho CRM, or two-ways. Additionally, you can send survey to your contacts from Zoho CRM.
Note: Please note that the SurveyMonkey extension for Zoho CRM is available in US, EU, CN, IN, AU, and JP data centers.

Install SurveyMonkey

Installing the extension and authenticating it with your SurveyMonkey login credentials is the first step. Once that is done, the surveys and contacts can be synchronized. After installing three modules are created: SurveyMonkey, SurveyMonkey Details, and SurveyMonkey Responses. You can either go to the Zoho Marketplace and install the SurveyMonkey extension or log in to your Zoho CRM account and install.

To install SurveyMonkey extension
  1. Go to Setup > Marketplace > All.
  2. All the installed extensions are listed. Under All Extensions you can view all the extensions supported in CRM.
  3. Click All Extensions, browse through for SurveyMonkey and click it.
    The details about the extension will be available.
  4. Click Install Now.
  5. In the following screen, agree to the terms of service and click Continueto Install.

  6. Choose one of the following and click Confirm.
    • Install for admin only - The extension will be installed in CRM for only the users with the administrator profile.
    • Install for all users - The extension will be installed in CRM for all the users. Users need to have an SurveyMonkey account to use this feature.
    • Choose profiles - The extension will be installed in CRM for all the users. You need to choose this option, click Continue and then select the profile
      The extension will be installed automatically for the specified users. After installing you need to authorize using your SurveyMonkey login credentials.
  7. Click Authorize.
    If you click Skip in this step, you can later authorize from Settings > Setup > Marketplace > All.
    In the SurveyMonkey extension details page, you can click Authorize.

  8. In the pop-up, specify the Email and Password for the SurveyMonkey account and click SignIn.

  9. Review the permissions and click Authorize.
    The account will be authorized and the extension can be used.

Set Sync Options and Map Surveys

After installing you can synchronize the contacts and the surveys. Surveys can be pulled in from SurveyMonkey whereas contacts can be synchronized both ways. The surveys are listed in the SurveyMonkey tab. These surveys can be selected and mapped to the campaigns tab where they are created as campaigns.

To map surveys
  1. Go to SurveyMonkey tab.
  2. Select the surveys that you want to map and click Map to Zoho CRM.
    The new surveys will be created as campaigns in Zoho CRM and the existing surveys will be updated.

To set sync options
  1. Go to the SurveyMonkey tab.
  2. Click Sync Settings.
    You will get the option to synchronize the contacts either one-way or two-way.
  3. Select One-Way or Two-Way sync option.
  4. In the Sync Subscribers To option, select Leads or Contacts.
    The contacts in SurveyMonkey will be synchronized as either leads or contacts in Zoho CRM.
  5. Click Sync Now.

View Imported Surveys and Survey Responses

To view imported surveys
  1. Go to SurveyMonkey Details tab.
    The surveys that were pulled from SurveyMonkey will be listed.
  2. Click on a survey. You can do the following:
    • Add notes.
    • Upload attachments or add links.
    • Schedule event, call or task.
    • Send emails.
    • View survey responses in the related lists.

To view the survey response details
  1. Go to the SurveyMonkey Response tab.
  2. Click a Response Name. You can do the following:
    • Add notes.
    • Upload attachments or add links.
    • Schedule event, call or task.
    • Send emails.

Send SurveyMonkey Surveys from Zoho CRM

The surveys that you create in SurveyMonkey can be sent to the contacts listed in your Zoho CRM account.

To send SurveyMonkey survey from Zoho CRM
  1. Click the Leads/Accounts/Contacts module.
  2. Select the record for which the survey has to be sent.
  3. Click SendSurvey.
  4. In the pop-up box, do the following:
  5. Choose a Survey from the drop-down list.
    All the surveys from SurveyMonkey will be listed here.

  6. Use the Add Recipients option to select contacts to whom you want to send the survey,
  7. Enter a Subject for the email that will be sent with the survey.
  8. Click Send.
  9. Alternatively, you can also send survey to multiple records at a time by using the Send Survey button in the Module's homepage.
    This button is available only in the Leads/Contacts module.
  10. Select the corresponding checkboxes for the records. Survey will be sent to these leads/contacts. 
  11. Click the Send Survey button and follow the same procedure from step 4 onwards.

Uninstall SurveyMonkey

When you wish to uninstall this extension, please note that all the data will be deleted on uninstalling and it cannot be recovered.

To uninstall SurveyMonkey
  1. Go to Setup > Marketplace > All > Installed Extensions.
  2. Find SurveyMonkey extension and click Uninstall.

  3. Click Ok to confirm uninstallation.
  4. The extension will be uninstalled.
