What are Telegram Bots?
Telegram Bots are special accounts that do not require an additional business phone number for setting up a dedicated IM channel on your help desk. These accounts serve as an interface for code running somewhere on your server.
How to deactivate a Telegram channel?
1 Click on the Setup Icon on the top right.
2 Select Instant Messaging under the Channels section
3 Click on Telegram in the IM options
4 The channels you created will be listed; select the channel that you would like to deactivate and click on the toggle option and slide it off, and a corresponding Deactivating message box will appear.
5 To confirm, click on Deactivate. The channel will be deactivated.

What is the Telegram Bot API?
The Telegram Bot API allows you to connect to a Bot from your system. Telegram's intermediary server will handle all the encryption and communication with the Telegram API for you. The Bot API allows you to create programs that use Telegram as a messaging medium to service customers around the clock.

Will a new contact or duplicate contact be created when a message is sent using the Telegram channel?
Yes, every time a message is sent from the Telegram channel, a contact is created. A new contact will be created, but a phone number will not be associated to the contact details as telegram uses a BOT Id.
What are the per-requisites for integrating a Telegram channel?
- A verified Telegram App.
- An API token acquired from @BotFather.
What is @BotFather?
These are special bots that do not require a phone number to get you started with the API integration. @BotFather is used to create new bot accounts and manage your existing bots.
