Print Ticket Extension for Zoho Desk

A printer-friendly version of a customer ticket is ideal for field service agents who will need a physical ticket, or if you have to upload a ticket into another system. The Print Ticket extension for Zoho Desk enables you to print a printer-friendly variant of any ticket with or without private conversations. The printout will contain all the email conversations that have happened over the ticket. Besides printing tickets, the extension also provides the ability to generate and save a PDF version of the ticket.

Key Benefits
  1. Take a print or save a PDF of a ticket on the fly.
  2. View the basic information such as priority, status, due date, etc. on the printed ticket.
  3. Choose to include or exclude private email conversations from the printout.
Note:
  1. You can print individual tickets only; there is no bulk printing option.
  2. You can select the custom fields to be printed.
  3. The printer-friendly version of the ticket will display values for the following fields.
    1. Contact Name
    2. Account Name
    3. Status
    4. Ticket Owner
    1. Due Date
    2. Priority
    3. Channel Name
    4. Created Time

Installing Print Ticket Extension

The Print Ticket extension can be installed from the Zoho Marketplace or your Zoho Desk account.

To install the extension:

  1. Log in to your Zoho Desk account with Administrator privileges.
  2. Click the Setup icon (  ) > Integrations > Marketplace. 
  3. Search for 'Print Tickets' in the search bar on the right-hand side of the screen.
  4. Select the Print Ticket extension and click Install.
  5. Click Install on the Confirm Installation window.
    You will land on the Print Ticket Installation Setup page.
  6. Select the Departments and Profiles whose agents can access the extension in Zoho Desk.
  7. Agree to the Terms of Use and click Install.
    The extension will be installed for the specified departments and profiles.
  8. Click Authorize in the pop-up window to activate the extension.
  9. Click Accept to allow Zoho Workflow to access data in your Zoho Desk account.

Printing Ticket Conversations

To print a ticket and its conversations, follow the below steps:
  1. Open a ticket to view its details.
  2. Click on the More Actions icon (  ) at the top right corner of the ticket.
  3. Click Print Ticket from the drop menu to open the extension panel.
  4. Check the type of threads and comments you want to include in your printed ticket.
    You can select either
    private, public, or both, as needed.
  5. Click Print to open a printer-friendly version of the ticket opens.
  6. In the Print Preview dialog box, click Print again.
    You can also change the destination to Save as PDF to save the ticket as a PDF file.

Uninstalling the Extension

You can uninstall the Print Ticket extension at any time. Once uninstalled, your agents cannot print ticket conversations in Zoho Desk.
To uninstall the extension:
  1. Go to Setup > Integrations >  Marketplace.
  2. In the Marketplace page, select the Installed Extensions tab.
  3. Choose Print Ticket from the list of extensions.
  4. Click the More Actions icon (  ) at the upper-right corner of the Print Ticket extension setup page.
  5. Select Uninstall Extension.
  6. Click Confirm to uninstall the extension.
Note: Please note that the Print Ticket extension wouldn't work if your browser pop-up is disabled. So you need to enable your browser pop-up to make the best use of the extension. 

To enable browser pop-ups for different browsers

  1. In Chrome: Click More > Settings > Privacy and Security > Sites settingsPop-ups and redirects > check in "Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects" box.
  2. In Safari: In the Safari app on your Mac, choose Safari > Preferences Websites > click Pop-up Windows on the left menu > choose Allow from the drop-down corresponding to the website.
  3. In Firefox: Click Preferences Privacy and Security > Permissions > click the Exceptions button to the right of Block pop-up windows to open a dialog box to choose which sites are allowed to display pop-ups.

Are there plans or can we request for certain fields on our tickets to be printed on the ticket also? For instance we have a field for service tag, property number, make/model, and list of schools that would be beneficial for us to print on our tickets.

This is great - we would love the ability to bulk print a number of tickets at once also - will this be added in future?
