Google Calendar Extension for Zoho Desk
The Google Calendar extension for Zoho Desk lets you create calendars and events in Zoho Desk and sync them with Google Calendar. You can now schedule, edit, or cancel events in Google Calendar from Zoho Desk. This extension also lets you set reminders to notify owners about upcoming events.
Installing Google Calendar Extension
The Google Calendar extension can be installed from the Zoho Marketplace or from your Zoho Desk account.
- Log in to your Zoho Desk account with Administrator privileges.
- Go to Setup icon (
)> Integration > Marketplace > All Extensions.
- Search for 'Google Calendar' in the search bar on the right.
- Select the Google Calendar extension and click Install.
- In the Google Calendar Installation Setup page, select profiles whose agents can access the extension in Zoho Desk.
- Agree to the Terms of Use and click Install.
- Click Authorize and select the portal in which you want to install the extension.
- Authorize your Google account by clicking Authorize in the pop-up.
Once the extension has been installed successfully, it can be accessed from the right panel of the tickets detail page and from the top band.
Accessing the Extension
To access the extension from the right panel:
- Click the Extensions icon (
) in the right panel of the tickets detail page.
- The Google Calendar widget will be displayed in the right panel.
- Choose Calendar helps you choose the google calendar from within Zoho Desk.
- The Create Event tab allows you to create events and Events tab lists all the events associated to the ticket.
When you access the extension from the right panel, you can do the following:
- Choose a calendar and create an event
- Edit an event
- View the list of events associated with a ticket
- Delete an event
Create an event:
- Click the Create Event tab.
- Provide Title, Date, Time, Location, and Attendee details.
Title and Date are mandatory. - Choose Yes or No for Event Reminder.
- Pick the Notification timing from the slots.
- Add the Description and click Save.
Note:
- When an event is created from a ticket, it will be associated with that ticket.
View, Edit or Delete events:
- Click the Events tab.
All the events associated with the ticket will be listed. - Hover over the event. Icons to edit and delete will pop up.
- Click (
) icon to edit an event.
- Upon clicking the icon, you will be redirected to Google Calendar, where you can edit your event.
- Click (
) icon to delete an event.
To access the extension from the top band:
- Click on the (
) icon in the top bar.
- Click Google Calendar under Extension in the drop-down menu.
- The left panel of the widget will list the calendars in your Google Calendar.
- The center of the widget will present the different views of the events.
- Use the Add Event button in the top-right corner to add events.
When you access the extension from the top band, you can do the following:
- Create calendar
- Create events
- View, edit, or delete events
Note:
- All the events from the chosen calendar will be displayed in the selected view and they are not that of a particular ticket.
Create calendar:
- Click ( + ) in the left panel of the widget.
- In the pop-up, enter the Name, Location, and Description for the calendar.
- Click Save button.
A calendar will be created with the specified values and will be synced with Google Calendar.
Create event:
- Choose a calendar from the left panel of the widget page.
- Click Add Event button to the right top corner.
- Provide all the required details to create an event.
- Click Save.
View, edit, or delete events:
- Choose a view from the drop down list View.
- Hover over the event. Icons to edit and delete will pop-up.
- Click (
- On clicking the icon, you will be redirected to Google calendar, where you could edit your event.
- Click (
A confirmation window will pop-up before deleting.
Note:
- All the changes made to the events will be updated in Google Calendar.
Uninstalling the Extension
To uninstall the Google Calendar extension:
- Go to Setup > Integration > Marketplace.
- Click Installed Extensions.
- Choose Google Calendar from the list of extensions.
- Click the More icon (
) at the upper-right corner of the Google Calendar extension setup page.
- Select Uninstall Extension.
- Click Confirm.
