To set up the embeddable message button, you will need the professional account mapping address of your Instagram business account. And with this address that you provided, a reference link will be generated which is unique for every business account.
There are three ways to enable your customers to contact you via the Instagram messaging button by setting it up as a chat option on your website.
• Via a Link
• Via a QR Code
• Via a customizable Message Button (Code Snippet)
To start with the set up of the message button feature, navigate to the settings bar and select Instant Messaging -> Instagram Channel -> Click on Configure and select the channel that you wish to set up the embeddable button for and click on Generate Instagram Embed Code by hovering over the desired channel.
1. Link
The chat link feature lets customers to copy an auto-generated chat link (Reference Link) and paste this on your website and instantly start chatting with businesses through the Instagram messaging app.
2. QR Code
You can also start chatting by downloading the auto-generated QR code. All you have to do is download the code and copy-paste it on your website or display it at the store for customers to quickly scan and reach out through the Instagram app.
The third option is probably the most frequently used one. You can do this easily by using the customizable code snippet option.
Step 1: Customize the message button on the IM Setup by choosing the Message Button style.
(i) First choose the button size
• Compact (or)
• Standard
(ii) Next choose the background color of the button
• Primary (or)
• Secondary
(iii) Next enter the button text (This will be displayed on your website)
(iv) Then choose the size of the button radius by moving the cursor over the desired size value and fix it there.
Finally, on the right hand side, you can see the customized Message Button Preview. You can then review and copy the generated code snippet.
Step 2: Once you have customized the button based on your preferences, copy the generated code snippet as shown below
Step 3: Find the right position to place the embeddable button on your website and paste the code snippet there
