Zoho Desk gives your customers a convenient way to reach you through WhatsApp—a messaging channel that they already know and love. Let's discuss how to embed a WhatsApp Chat Button on your website so you can boost your customer support experience.
• The embeddable button allows your webpage visitors to engage with your business instantly.
• It also frees the customers from the burden of waiting for a response since their questions and concerns can be addressed faster via WhatsApp.
• Many people are already using WhatsApp to chat with friends and family. Enabling business communications via WhatsApp helps them feel more personally connected to your business.
To add the chat button, you will need the following prerequisites: a WhatsApp Business Account and a verified WhatsApp Business Number. With the phone number that you have provided, a unique reference link will be generated for your business account.
There are three ways to allow your customers to contact you via the WhatsApp chat button after setting it up on your website.
• Via a Link
• Via a QR Code
• Via a customizable Message Button (Code Snippet)
Regardless of which option you choose, you start by generating a WhatsApp Embed Code:
1. Navigate to the
Setup icon (
) in the top bar.
2. Select Instant Messaging under the channels option.
3. Select WhatsApp Channel.
4. Click on Configure.
5. Select the channel that you wish to set up the embeddable button for.
6. Click on Generate WhatsApp Embed Code by hovering over the Channel options.
1. Link
The chat link feature lets customers click on an auto-generated WhatsApp chat link (reference link) and start chatting instantly with their customers through WhatsApp.
2. QR Code
You can also start chatting by downloading an auto-generated QR code. All you need to do is download the code and paste it on your webpage. You can also display it at the store (physical outlets) for customers to quickly scan and reach out to you instantly.
The third option is probably the most frequently used. You can create a message button by using the customizable code snippet option.
Step 1: Customize the message button on the IM Setup screen by first choosing the Message Button style.
(A) Choose the button size.
- Compact (or)
- Standard
(B) Choose the background color of the button.
- Teal (or)
- Green (or)
- White
(C) Enter the button text. This will be the text displayed to your customers on your webpage.
(D) Then, choose the size of the button radius by moving the cursor over the desired size value and selecting it.
On the right-hand side of your screen, you will see the WhatsApp Chat Button Preview. You can then finalize and copy the generated code snippet.
Step 2: Once you have customized the button based on your preferences, copy the generated code snippet as shown below.
Step 3: Find the right position to place the embeddable button on your webpage, and paste the code snippet there.
