IP, Domain, and Port Whitelisting for Zoho Directory Identity Connect

Zoho Directory Identity Connect is an on-premises agent that connects your organization’s LDAP-based servers to Zoho Directory. It automates synchronization of users, groups, and their attributes from your on-premises LDAP servers to Zoho Directory, reducing the need for manual user management.

However, in highly secured environments, outbound network traffic is often restricted by strict firewall rules and policies. In such scenarios, the system requires certain network configurations to allow the Zoho Directory Identity Connect to synchronize users and groups from your servers to Zoho Directory.

Therefore, the required IP ranges, domains, and ports must be whitelisted for uninterrupted and secure communication to ensure successful synchronization of identities.

The following network requirements must be configured on the secured server or virtual machine to enable the required communication.

IP Ranges

For IP ranges, you can reach out to support@zohodirectory.com. Obtain the IP ranges specific to your DC and ensure that the relevant IP addresses are whitelisted.

Domains

1. HTTPS

The following Zoho domains must be whitelisted to enable secure HTTPS communication. Identify the domains specific to your DC and allow communication over Port 443 (HTTPS).

You must whitelist accounts.zoho.com (even if your organization does not belong to the US data center) along with the domains specific to your region's data center. This allows the Zoho Directory Identity Connect agent to determine which data center your organization belongs to. Once the data center is identified, the agent redirects communication to the appropriate DC specific domains.

If your organization belongs to the EU data center, you must whitelist the following domains:

accounts.zoho.eu
directory.zoho.eu

2. WebSocket (WSS)

The following domains must be whitelisted to enable WebSocket (WSS) communication. Identify the domains specific to your DC and allow communication over Port 443 (WSS).

Ports

The following ports must be open for outbound communication:

WebSocket: Port 443 (WSS)
API Communication: Port 443 (HTTPS)
LDAP: Port 389
LDAPS: Port 636 (if SSL is enabled)

For LDAP/LDAPS services, you are not restricted to fixed ports. Ports can be configured as per your need.
