Configure provisioning for Google Workspace with Zoho Directory
User provisioning with Google Workspace enables you to provision and deprovision users in Google Workspace from the Zoho Directory Admin Panel, allowing you to use Zoho Directory as a single source of truth. To get the most out of this integration, you can also set up single sign-on (SSO). SSO allows your organization's users to easily access Google Workspace without having to sign in to it separately.
Prerequisites

- Roles that can perform this action:
- Organization Owner
- Organization Admin
- Permissions required to perform this action:

In Zoho Directory: Set up provisioning
- Sign in to Zoho Directory, then click Admin Panel in the left menu.
- Go to Applications, then click Google Workspace.
- Under Provisioning, click Configure.
- In the next page, click Authorize. A new tab opens requesting you to authenticate using your Google account.
- Enter the credentials of your Google Workspace admin account and login, then click Continue.
- Select the list of permissions to provide for Zoho Directory, then click Allow. Upon successful authentication, you can proceed to field mapping.
- You can map the Zoho Directory fields with the relevant fields in Google Workspace so that both can be in sync. To do so, select the required fields in the Zoho Directory column, and in the Google Workspace column, select the relevant fields from the drop-down.
If you'd like to have a constant value set in Google Workspace for any field, hover over the field, click Edit, enter the value in the Hardcoded Value field, and click OK. - Click Save and Next.
- When you perform certain actions for users in Zoho Directory, you can configure it to get reflected in Google Workspace as well. Under Settings, select the profile actions that you want to get reflected from among the below:
- Create Users: Users assigned to Google Workspace in Zoho Directory will be added as new users in Google Workspace.
- Update User profile: For users who already have an account in Google Workspace, changes made to the mapped profile fields in Zoho Directory will reflect in Google Workspace.
- Delete Users: When a user is unassigned from Google Workspace app in Zoho Directory, the existing user account will be deleted in Google Workspace.
- Activate and deactivate Users: Activating or deactivating users in Zoho Directory will activate or deactivate them in Google Workspace. Additionally, users who have an account in Google Workspace will be activated when they are assigned to the app in Zoho Directory.
- Click Save.
- If you wish to import users from Google Workspace to Zoho Directory, click Import. It is advisable to import users during initial setup or when activating the app after a while. A list of user profiles that can be imported will be displayed based on the following filters:
- New Users: Users in Google Workspace who do not have an account in Zoho Directory. Users you select here will be added to Zoho Directory and Google Workspace will be assigned to them.
Update User: Users in Google Workspace who are already present in Zoho Directory. Users you select here will have their profile attributes overwritten with the values from the source profile you choose.
Source profile is the profile between Zoho Directory and Google Workspace from which data will be overwritten to the other account.
- Users to Activate: Active Users in Google Workspace who are present in Zoho Directory but are inactive. Users you select here will be activated, and Google Workspace will be assigned to them.
- Users to Deactivate: Inactive users in Google Workspace who are present in Zoho Directory but are active. These users will be deactivated in Zoho Directory.
- Click Confirm Assignment.
- Click Done.
