User provisioning with Reftab enables you to provision and deprovision users in Reftab from Zoho Directory Admin Panel, enabling you to use Zoho Directory as a single source of truth.
Prerequisites
- A user account in Reftab with the Administrator role.
- SSO must have been set up.
In Reftab: Enable SCIM and generate token
1. Sign in to your Reftab account.
2. Click Settings, then click SAML SSO Settings in the left panel.
3. Navigate to SCIM - USER PROVISIONING, then click Configure SCIM.
4. Copy Endpoint link and the Token from SCIM Settings. They will be used in Zoho Directory to set up provisioning.
In Zoho Directory: Set up provisioning
1. Sign in to
Zoho Directory, then click
Admin Panel in the left menu.
2. Go to Applications, then use the search bar to find Reftab.
3. Go to Provisioning, then click Configure.
4. Paste the Endpoint URL and Token you copied from Reftab under Sync endpoint and SCIM Token fields.
5. Click Authorize.
6. Select the profile fields that have to be synced with Reftab and map the relevant Zoho Directory fields with them. If you'd like to have a constant value to be set in Reftab for any fields, click Edit next to the field, enter the value in the Hardcoded value field, then click OK.
7. Click Save and Next.

Note: All Reftab fields will be mapped to the relevant Zoho Directory field. To change this mapping, you should have the Standard or Professional plans in Zoho Directory.
8. Choose which of the changes made in Zoho Directory have to be synced with Reftab:
- Create users: Assigning users to Reftab in Zoho Directory will automatically add them as new users in Reftab.
- Update user profile: For users with existing accounts in Reftab, changes made to the mapped fields in the user's profile in the Zoho Directory will be synced with their Reftab account.
- Delete users: Unassigning users from Reftab in Zoho Directory will delete their account in Reftab.
- Activate and deactivate users: Inactive users in Reftab will be activated when they are assigned to Reftab in Zoho Directory. Additionally, activating or deactivating a user in Zoho Directory will also activate and deactivate them in Reftab.
9. Click Save.
10. If you'd like to have the users currently in Reftab to be imported to ZD, click Import. A list of users that can be imported will be displayed. The following filters can be used to select users to import:
- All Users: All the users that can be imported from Reftab to Zoho Directory.
- New Users: Users with existing accounts in Reftab but do not have an account in Zoho Directory. These users will be added to Zoho Directory, and Reftab will be assigned to them.
- Update Users: Users in Reftab who are already present in Zoho Directory. Choose a source profile, and the field values of the user profiles you select here will be overwritten with that of the source profile.
- Users to Activate: Users inactive in Zoho Directory but active in Reftab will be activated while importing.
- Users to Deactivate: For users who are active in Zoho Directory but inactive in Reftab, those users will be disabled from Reftab while importing.
