Disable MFA

Prerequisites

Roles that can perform this action:
  1. Organization Owner
  2. Organization Admin
  3. Custom roles with Disable MFA permission
Once disabled, the user's MFA configuration will be disabled, and the user will not be prompted for MFA during their next login. You can enable it later, at any time.

To disable MFA

  1. Sign in to Zoho Directory, then click Admin Panel in the left menu.
  2. Click Users in the left menu, then click on the user for whom you want to disable MFA.
  3. Go to Security Policies tab, turn off the toggle under Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  4. On the pop-up, click Verify and re-authorize to verify your identity with your password. Next, turn off the toggle again and click Yes, Confirm to disable MFA.
    Notes
While performing sensitive actions, admins will need to periodically re-authenticate.
  5. To disable MFA for bulk users, go to the Quick Actions menu () in the top-right corner and click Disable MFA
  6. Select the necessary users and click Disable. Repeat Step 4.
