Country List lets you rename country names displayed in your form’s Address fields. Create a list with custom country names and apply it to any form in your account. You can also use the built-in translation option to auto-generate names in a supported language, then review and edit them as needed.
By default, country names in Address fields appear in English and few country names includes special characters, such as Åland Islands or Curaçao. Even if your form is in a regional language, respondents still see country names in English unless you translate them. Country List solves this by giving you full control over how country names appear to your respondents.
Creating a Country List
- Navigate to Control Panel > Customization > Country List.
- Click Create New List.
- Enter a List Name.

- In the Country List table, the left column shows the default English country names. Enter your custom names in the Display Name column next to each country.
- You do not need to fill in every row. Enter custom names only for the countries you want to rename.
- Click Create.
Note: Each display name you enter is mapped to the country in the same row. Entering a different country’s name in a row to reorder the list will cause a mismatch in your data.
Translating country names
If you want to display country names in another language, use the language dropdown above the Countries List table to select a language. The system will auto-generate translated names in the Display Name column.
Note: Switching languages will replace your current custom display names with system-generated translations, which may not always be accurate. Review the names before saving.
Once you've created a list, apply it to a form through its settings.
To associate a country list to you form:
- Select the form and navigate to Settings > General > Others.

- Under Country List, select the list you want to use for this form.
- The selected list will now appear as the country options in all Address fields in this form.
Note:
- If you have integrations, webhooks, or rules that reference country names, review them after making changes to avoid data push failures.
- If you rename a country, entries submitted after the change will show the new name. Entries submitted before the change retain the original name. For example, filtering by the new name may not return the entries that contain original name.
- Update your Zoho Forms mobile application to version 3.28.0 (android) and 7.0 (iOS) and above for the feature to work correctly.
