AI Forms

Zoho Forms' AI-powered form builder lets you generate a fully structured form by simply describing what you need in plain language. Zia reads your description, picks the relevant fields and labels, and produces a form so you can skip creating from scratch and go straight to refining and editing the generated form.

Advantages of using AI for form creation
  1. Eliminates manual field-by-field setup, where Zia predicts and adds relevant fields based on your description.
  2. No technical expertise required, you can just describe what the form is for and Zia will generate a relevant form.
  3. Supports a wide variety of use cases like registrations, applications, feedback, orders, and more.
  4. Offers full flexibility to modify the generated form to suit your specific needs.
Building a form using AI

To create a form using AI:
  1. In your Zoho Forms account, under the My Forms tab, click the + New Form and select AI Forms.
  2. In the Describe your form text box, type a description of what your form should do. You can write your own description or choose from sample prompts for common form types such as Event Registration, Contact Us, Newsletter Subscription, Job Application, or Appointment Booking Form.
  3. Select a Content Tone from the dropdown. The tone shapes how field labels and supporting instructions read. For example, the same registration form can come across as formal for an internal HR process or conversational for a customer-facing campaign.
  4. Click Generate Form. Zia analyzes your input and automatically generates the form fields, labels, and a form title.
  5. A preview of the generated form appears, along with the form title. You can edit the form title inline by clicking the edit icon next to it.
  6. If the draft needs changes, update your description or switch the Content Tone, then click Regenerate to produce a fresh preview. You can regenerate as many times as needed before saving.
  7. Under Form properties, enable Multi-Column Layout to display fields in two or three columns for more compact layout. If disabled, fields are stacked in the default single-column layout.
  8. Click Create Form to open the form builder, where you can:
  1. Add or remove fields by dragging and dropping, and edit field properties.
  2. Customize the form's appearance using the Themes tab.
  3. Set up conditional rules to tailor the form based on respondent input.
Tips for writing a good prompt

The clearer your description, the closer the first draft will be to what you need. Focus on the purpose of the form and who it's for and not on specific field types or counts. Those are best handled in the form builder after the draft is generated.
