Why is some of my recipients not receiving the WhatsApp OTP message?

1. If the OTP message is not being delivered, check the following:

  • Ensure the recipient's phone number is registered as a WhatsApp number.
  • Confirm that the recipient has accepted Meta's latest Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. This can be checked under Settings > Help or Settings > Application in WhatsApp.
  • Make sure the recipient is using an updated version of WhatsApp. The minimum required versions are:
    • Android: 2.21.15.15
    • SMBA: 2.21.15.15
    • iOS: 2.21.170.4
    • SMBI: 2.21.170.4
    • KaiOS: 2.2130.10
    • Web: 2.2132.6

2. The OTP is being generated for Android users but not for iOS users.

Try these steps:

  • Test the OTP message on another iOS device with a different valid WhatsApp phone number.
  • Check if the recipient’s phone number is still linked to their WhatsApp Account.

3. I have a valid WhatsApp phone number and the latest app version, but OTP messages are still not received.

  • WhatsApp applies Per-User Marketing Template Message Limits, which restrict the number of marketing messages a recipient can receive from businesses within a specific time frame.
  • Meta controls the message delivery process to ensure high-quality user experiences. Zoho Forms does not have control over these limitations.

4. What should I do if I’ve checked everything and the issue persists?

  • Attempt OTP verification again after ensuring all the above conditions are met.
  • If messages still fail to deliver, reach out to Meta Support for further assistance.
