You can track your organization's email usage through the Email Usage Dashboard. You can find this at Setup > Developer Space > Email Usage.
Email Categories
Every email sent from your organization falls into one of three categories, and each category carries its own daily limits. The table below describes these categories and the types of emails they include.
Category
| Description
|
System
|
Emails sent to users within your organization. This includes:
- Invite emails, welcome emails, etc
- Emails sent to org users (for example, the Contact Owner) through email notifications.
- Notifications you set up using the Send Email option in notifications—such as alerts triggered when service appointment or invoice usage exceeds a specified limit.
These emails have no daily cap and no sending restrictions.
|
User
| Includes Send/Resend of Estimates, Service Reports, Invoices, and Payments.
|
Workflow Alert
| Emails triggered through email notifications that are sent to external users (not org users)—for example, Contact or Company email addresses.
|
The limit is calculated as follows:
- First 7 days: The limit equals your count (monthly) of appointments purchased and is applied to each email category. You can view these limits in the dashboard UI.
- After 7 days: The limit is recalculated as:
- Paid editions: Limit = 3 × appointment count
- Trial or Free editions: Limit = 2 × appointment count
Example: If the number of appointments per month is 100:
- For the first 7 days, the limit is 100 for each email category.
- After 7 days, the limit becomes 300 (3 × 100) if your org is on a paid edition, or 200 (2 × 100) if your org is in trial or on a free edition.
Note: Each limit is tracked separately by category.
