How can I filter assets by Contact and Company in the Asset lookup?
When you create or edit a Request, Estimate, or Work Order, you'll often need to associate it with a specific asset. To make finding the right asset easier, the Asset lookup field includes a filter that narrows the list based on how each asset is linked to a Contact and a Company.
You can choose between two filter options:
- Contact And Company: Displays only the assets that are associated with both the selected Contact and the selected Company. Use this when you want a precise match and only want to see assets that belong to that exact Contact–Company pairing.
- Contact Or Company: Displays assets that are associated with either the selected Contact or the selected Company. Use this when you want a broader list, for example to see every asset tied to the company even if it isn't linked to the specific contact.
This option is available in two places within the Asset lookup:
- Click the Asset lookup, then click the settings icon [
]. Select Contact And Company or Contact Or Company, as required.
- You will find this option in the advanced search popup too. Click on
