Why can’t I disable certain permissions while creating a custom profile in Zoho FSM?
In Zoho FSM, certain permissions are mandatory and cannot be disabled—even in custom profiles.
The non-editable permissions include:
- Basic Permissions: Contacts, Companies, Work Orders, Service Appointments, Trips, Timesheets, Job Sheets, Services and Parts, Notes, Attachments
- General settings: Organisation Details, Business Hours, Holidays, Currency
- Workforce Management settings: Users, User Locations, Territories, Skills, Crews
Additionally, some permissions in are interdependent—disabling one may automatically restrict access to related features.
Below are some examples:
- Disabling Create permission for basic permissions like Contacts and Companies
- Also disables: Webforms
- Disabling Create permission for Timesheets
- Also disables: Service Appointments → Start Work
- Disabling Create permission for Service Appointments
- Also disables:
- Scheduled Maintenances → Create
- Scheduled Maintenances → Edit
- Dispatch Console
- Service Appointments → Revert
- Disabling Requests
- Also disables:
- Estimates → Change Territory
- Work Orders → Change Territory
- Service Appointments → Change Territory
- Webforms
- Disabling Create permission for Work Orders
- Also disables:
- Scheduled Maintenances → Create
- Scheduled Maintenances → Edit
- Dispatch Console
- Requests → Convert to Work Order
- Estimates → Convert to Work Order
- Disabling Estimates
- Also disables:
- Requests → Convert to Estimate
- Requests → Change Territory
- Work Orders → Change Territory
- Service Appointments → Change Territory
- Disabling Payments
- Also disables: Invoices → Record Payment
- Disabling the Use as Field Agent permission
- Prevents users with this profile from being assigned to Service Appointments
- Disabling Show Pricing
- Also disables:
- Services and Parts → Create
- Scheduled Maintenances → View
- Reports → View
- Invoices → Create, View, Download, Print, Send, Record Payment
- Requests → Create
- Estimates → Create, Send
- Webforms
- Export
- Payments → Create, Edit, View, Download, Print, Send Receipt
- Disabling Service Reports
- Also disables: Service Report Customization
