The Policy feature in Zoho IoT allows you to define a set of permissible actions for devices using MQTT and client certificate authentication. These actions specify the allowed communications between the device and the cloud, enabling the sending and receiving of MQTT messages.

Policy Name Description Default All Access Policy Default policy with access to all types of messages which can be sent from cloud to device and from device to cloud. Default Telemetry policy Default policy with access restricted to the telemetry messages sent to the devices. Other devices can send messages to the telemetry topic of the device.

Policy Option Description Device communication with the application Telemetry data Provides permission to the device gateway to send the collected periodic data to the cloud. Device Notification/Event data Provides permission to the device gateway to send device notifications and events instantly to the cloud. Application communication with the device Subscribe to Command Provides permission to the device to subscribe and accept commands from the cloud. Edge Agent configuration Provides permission to the device to accept Edge Rules from the cloud.
