Adding a command and command template in the end application

When a command is added in the end application, it also creates a command template in the model on which the instance is based. Consequently, all instances associated with that model will automatically include the newly added command.

All Command operations require necessary permissions. Refer User Profiles document for more details.

To add a command in the end application,
  1. Access the End Application.
  2. Select Devices > Devices in the left pane.You can select Assets to add a command to an asset or Location to add a command to a location.



  3. Click the name of the device you want to add the command to. This opens the device's information page. For this illustration, the device: Smart Fan is considered.



  4. Click Actions > Command Configuration.



  5. Click Add Command. This will open the add new command template form.



  6. Provide the required values in the corresponding fields. For this illustration, a command: Fan Speed is used.

  7. Click Create.
A new command called Fan Speed will be added to the specified instance, and a Command template will be added to the model based on which the instance was created.
