Disabling a command template

A Command template can be disabled, rendering it unavailable in the instances that are based on the model to which the command template is added. A command template can be disabled by turning off the command status while editing a command.

All Command operations require necessary permissions. Refer User Profiles document for more details.

To disable a command template,
  1. Access the Developer Application.
  2. Select Asset or Devices or Location in the left pane based on the model to which you want to import the datapoint template. For this illustration, Device is selected.
  3. Click the name of the model you want to add the Command Template to. For this illustration, the device model Smart Equipment is considered.



  4. Select Commands in the left pane. This will open the command templates list view.



  5. Check the box near the name of the command template you want to disable and click the Edit button that appears. For this illustration, the command template Smart Device ON/OFF is selected.



  6. Change the status to OFF.



  7. Click Update.
The command template will now be disabled, and the commands in the instances based on the model will not be accessible.
