Editing a datapoint template in a datapoint group in the end application

Once a datapoint group is added to the application users can edit the datapoint templates in the datapoint groups.
Note: For datapoint templates of datapoint groups imported from the gallery, only the parsing key can be edited. However, for the datapoint templates in a custom datapoint group the name, datapoint kind, and parsing key can be modified.
To edit a datapoint template of a datapoint group in the end application,
  1. Access the End Application.
  2. Click the Settings icon in the top right corner.



  3. Click on Datapoint Group under the MONITORING & CONTROL section.



  4. Click on the datapoint group for which you want to add the datapoint template. For this illustration, the Home Automation datapoint group is selected.




  5. Check the box near the name of the datapoint template you want to edit. For this illustration, the datapoint template Light Intensity is selected.



  6. Click the Edit button that appears. This opens the edit datapoint form that appears.



  7. Make the necessary changes and click Update.

 
Changes made will now be updated in the datapoint template. However, these changes will not affect datapoints that were imported before the modification
