Disabling a datapoint
You can disable a datapoint in an instance to effectively inactive and stop it from extracting and storing data from the received payloads. You can disable a datapoint by editing it.
All Datapoint operations require necessary permissions. Refer User Profiles document for more details.To disable a datapoint,
- Access the End Application.
- Select Devices > Devices in the left pane.You can select Assets to disable a datapoint template in an asset or Location to disable a datapoint template in a location.
- Click the name of the instance which has the datapoint. For this illustration, the device: My RPi is considered.
- Click Actions > Datapoint configuration. This opens the datapoint list view.
- Check the box next to the datapoint you want to edit and click Edit. For this illustration, the datapoint: Temperature is selected.
- Change the Status to OFF.
- Click Update.
The datapoint will now be disabled for that particular instance.
