Adding a user defined device product in the developer application

A user defined device product can be added to the developer application as a separate entity.

All Device operations require necessary permissions. Refer User Profiles document for more details.

To add a user defined device product,
  1. Access the Developer Application.
  2. Select Products in the left pane.
  3. Click Add Product. This will open the add new product form.



  4. Select Device Product in the category field.


  5. Provide the required details in the appropriate fields. For this illustration, we are adding a device product for an Arduino PLC.

  6. Click Add.
  7. Add the required datapoint definitions for your device product by clicking Add Datapoint Definition.



    Note: You will not be able to add datapoint definitions once the product is associated with a model. You have to disassociate it from a model before you can add datapoint definitions to it.

  8. Click Ok.

The new device product will be added to the Device Gallery and will be available for association with a device model.
