Add Device: API Endpoint
Prerequisite
Before proceeding with this document, please ensure you have read the following prerequisite materials to fully understand the concepts discussed here:
Adding a device as API endpoint
An endpoint device refers to third party applications that act as virtual devices that collect IoT data and need to transmit it to the Zoho IOT application. To register a device as an endpoint, a device product is not necessary.
To add an end point device in the application,
- Access the End Application.
- Select Devices > Devices in the left pane.
- Click Add Device.
- Choose Add using Direct Endpoint and click Proceed.
- Determine the model you wish to use:
- If it's your first time accessing the application or you have not added any model in the application, you will only have the Model field. Entering the Model Name will create a new device model with that name.
If you had already added a device model, you will have a toggle option
- Toggle to Create new model if you wish to associate a new device model with the product. Entering the model name will create a new model with the given name.
- Toggle to Use Existing Model if you have previously added a model(s) and select the required Model.
- Provide the necessary details in the required fields. For this illustration, the information provided is for adding a device based on the Home Gateway device model.
Learn how to configure the fields for a device. - Click Add.
A new direct endpoint device will now be added to the application.
