Adding a device using a model

All Device operations require necessary permissions. Refer User Profiles document for more details.

Create a Device Model

1. Open the Developer Application.
2. Select Device in the left pane.
3. Click on Add Device Model.
4. Provide the required details. For this illustration, a model called Home Gateway is created.

5. Click Create Model.

Associate a Device Product

Note: Make sure you have added a custom device product to the application. If you want to associate a product from the device gallery, Add Device using Product Gallery Device.

1. Access the device model's information page by clicking on the name of the device model. For this illustration, the Home Gateway model is selected.
   
   
   
   
2. Select Supported Products in the left pane.

          

3. Click Associate.
   
   
   
   
4. Select the Device product from the drop-down list and click Next. For this illustration, the custom device product: My First Custom Device is selected.
   
   

         

5. Click Confirm on the selection preview page.
   

Create a Device

1. Access the End Application.
2. Select Devices > Devices in the left pane.
   
   
   
   
3. Click on Add Device.
4. Choose Add Using Model and click Proceed.
   
   

   

   
   
5. Select the model and the product in the corresponding fields. For this illustration, the device model: Home Gateway and the custom device product: My Custom Device Product, created in the previous steps are considered.
6. Provide the required information in the appropriate fields.
