Working with Portals
Creating a Portal
- Enter the portal name.
- Click Create Portal. The Portal is created and displayed as below.
The available Tutorials and Recipes are also displayed in this portal page.
The application can be created from here using the Create IoT App button. Refer to the Working with Applications document for step-by-step procedure.
Editing a Portal
You can edit the portal from the Portal's landing page.
To edit the portal details,
- Click the Portal Details link on the top right corner.
3. Modify the portal name /portal owner as desired.
Note: User Type is used to denote the user category. This is just for reference purpose and not used anywhere in the application.
Note:
Only the administrator of all the applications available in the portal will be displayed in the drop down for selection as portal owner.
The existing portal owner will not any access rights to the portal once the portal assigned a new owner.
4. Click Save to update the details.
Switching Between Portals
When you are inside a portal, and want to switch to another portal, follow the below steps.
- Click on the portal name in the top right part of the screen. My Portals drop down will be displayed with the list of portals and applications available to the user.
When you are inside an application, and want to switch to another portal, follow the below steps.
- Click on the application name in the top right part of the screen. My Portals and My Applications drop down will be displayed with the list of portals and applications available to the user.
2. Click on the application name that you want to view.
If you do not have any portals associated, the below empty portals page is displayed when you click Manage.

3. Click Create Portal and proceed with Portal Creation.
Setting a Portal as Default
The portal that is set as default will be displayed after Sign In.
- Click on the application name in the top right part of the screen. My Portals and My Applications drop down will be displayed with the list of portals and applications available to the user.
2. Click on the portal name that you want to view. If you do not have any portals associated, the below empty portals page is displayed when you click Manage.3. Choose My Portals in the top toggle button.4. Click Set As Default against the portal that you want to display on Sign In.
The portal set as default will be displayed on Sign In. From here you can access the application. Or you can directly set the application as default and display the application page on Sign In.
