Creating a Device for Raspberry Pi in Zoho IOT application

With the physical setup of connecting the DHT22 sensor complete, we can now create a device in the Zoho IOT application to represent this raspberry pi. This device created I the application will have the necessary credentials to establish a connection between the real world raspberry pi and the Zoho IOT application.

If you are using the Raspberry Pi's Graphical User Interface, its is recommended you use the browser of your Raspberry Pi to access the Zoho IOT application for this setup.
To create/register a device,
  1. Access the End Application.
  2. Select Devices > Devices in the left pane.
  3. Click Add Device.
  4. Select Add Using Product Gallery (Devices) and click Proceed.
  5. Click the search icon and type "Raspberry Pi" and hit return/Enter.
  6. Select the Raspberry Pi version you are using. For this illustration, Raspberry Pi 4 is selected.
  7. Determine the model you wish to use:
If it's your first time accessing the application or you have not added any model in the application, you will only have the Model field. Provide a name of your choice for the device model. For this illustration, "Home Gateway" is given.



If you had already added a device model, you will have a toggle option

Toggle to Create new model and provide a name of your choice. For this illustration, "Home Gateway" is given.

  1. Provide the following details in the required fields.

    Note: You can provide a name and description of your choice for this set up, but the rest of the fields must be the same as the field provided.
  1. Click Proceed. A new device with the given name (e.g., My RPi) is created and the connection credentials will now be displayed.

  2. Click Download Credentials. These credentials will be used for onboarding the device.
